There are many unanswered questions in Persona 5 Royal about Jose. Are you curious about Jose's secret identity? In this video, we'll explore some theories about who Jose could be.
📝Note
• I am aware that Igor has a new voice actor in the new Persona 5 X trailer so the theory might be a bit weakened. However, we still don't know much about Persona 5 X and its connection to Royal so It could be totally unrelated.
• I am aware that It is not uncommon that Persona English Voice actors are recast but I still believe the Theory still holds due to the fact that the team implemented the fake Igor Plot into the story + JP Voice Actors are rarely recast.

I always just assumed he was an emmesary of both Nyarlothitep and Philemon referring to his master as "harsh and kind" because they are essentially one being just two sides of a coin, but then says "there are more people* watching over humans" with also eludes to the dual personalities. This all comes after the post game story, which I personally believe" happens because of Nyar granting a persona to Maruki. It's his MO like in P1 and P2. He found somebody with the potential to undermine humankind and facilitated it. This could all be pointing to the return of Philemon and Nyar.

@Sky's Gaming Academy oh and I forgot to mention that all the star imagery reminds me of Philemon and Nyarlothetep domain, that is essentially the "Sea of Souls" and when the P2 cast sees it they initially think they are inouter space cause it looks like stars

About Philemon's presence in P5, it is confirmed that he is watching over the protagonist of P5 just like how he was P3 and P4 via PQ2. Though the events of the game are forgotten by the characters, the story is still canon. In it, Joker is visited by Philemon in butterfly form and spoken to directly in a dream. I don't know if this means they're trying to phase Philemon back into the main stories (especially with the possibility of Jose replacing Igor in the future), but it's nice to know that Philemon is still a presence in the world in some way.

Personally I think that the person he is working for is Elizabeth, as we know from Persona four arena Ultimax that she has started on her own journey similar to the persona protagonists, receiving the fool card at the end of that story. I think harsh but kind fits her perfectly, and she herself says she is looking for allies with which to achieve her goal, as she is aware of the power of bonds. I would think that Jose is someone from, well, wherever velvet room attendants come from, but isn't one himself, and Elizabeth wants him to learn about humans because it's integral to learning about bonds.

That's one of the one that I plan to cover in the future but I ran out of time in this one. I could make very long vid but I prefer to make around 10 min so I can push them out weekly. I do plan to compile them into super long vid when I have lot of them tho

I came up with the theory of Jose becoming Igor's replacement too while I played, maimly because of his voice actor's death. I expect this to happen in persona 6 too. If not, it would still be cool to see him come back

At 3:48 you mention that all velvet room assistants are persona users, i believe this is false since they use the compendium in order to summon personas, the only exception to this are the twins, they dont have the compendium during battle but they still have this list (idk how its called bc i played the game in spanish) for me this is enough explanation on why jose doesnt use personas, also assumimg that he is going to be a velvet room assistant at some point. Nice video btw

I actually have a small theory about lavenza being a butterfly As we know, Ignore is Philemon's creation and it seems unlikely that he would sit back while this god essentially cheated to gain an upper hand against joker. However, lavenza was able to help joker even the ods and reach out the joker despite being split apart. I think maybe philamon gave some of his power to lavenza to help even the ods and gave her the ability to take that form and behave in a similar manner to him

If Jose is to be in P6, I believe it would be a direct sequel to P6, similar to P2 is direct sequel to P1, with the Phantom Thieves returning since Jose teased their involvement with him in the future.

I think jose is a failed velvet room attendant or a creation by one of the velvet room attendants or he may have even been the potential velvet room attendant for akechi

It can feel kinda absurd, but I have thought that igor may be just the first wildcard persona user, that after his own journey like a persona 0 game, transcended at the point of being able to use his wild card abilities to help the next ones Haven't played p1 and p2 though, im new to the franchised and only finished p5 and p3, and im playing p4 for now

on the net there are apparently 2 Atlus domains in the name of Persona 5 .. one will be Phantom X, the other a third game .. it could reappear in this case but he has a different nose, eyes and ears from the assistants

The only way they're replacing a voice actor ever works, is if the newbie can do a perfect imitation of the original. The only exception ever in gaming to my knowledge that actually worked was God of war with Kratos.

False. Their inability to reach joker during the school dream sequence is due to maruki's interference with cognition on mass. Sort of like how the film on a microwave meal prevents your fork or spoon from "communicating" with the food inside but the food can still "see" the silverware.

Great question, I hate doing it too but now that when you view KZfaq on your phone or hover over it. It starts playing the video which negates the point of the thumbnail. That is why some creators including myself start to add subtitles, in the beginning, to give more context to people who viewing using that feature because again they bypassed the thumbnail + the video is muted by default (well it is not like they have a choice) That's also why my subtitle last till the end of the introduction segment only and not the whole video. TLDR; I hate it too, but we got to adapt to how KZfaq changes especially for a creator of my size. Thank you for watching my video!

Personally I think Igor, when creating Jose, messed up the creation process and ended up making a boy who is unable to be "one who rules over power", hence his weird nose, ears, and hair, so he was stationed as a sort of free agent to roam and learn about humans

People tend to theorize that Jose is connected to the velvet attendants i personally disagree his robotic appearance makes me feel like he's more akin to being created by a researcher than being a connected to the velvet room. It's quite possible he could be like Emma actually an ai created to gather Intel from the metaverse which explains why he tries so hard to understand humans so much. He is probably a prototype to Emma like Sophia. Jose being created to gather Intel and Sophia being the first prototype. The final function is where they differ Emma being designed more so to control the metaverse,Jose being designed to gather Intel, and Sophia being designed as humanity's companion.

Also, doesn't Jose refer to "that person" as "she" or "her" more than once? Which would mean they couldn't possibly be igor or Igor's creator because both of those characters are male. We aren't pulling none of the west's woke shit in a game based in eastern culture.
