I laughed outloud to hear Joseph describe his experience of a Bruce Springsteen concert as a hell realm!!! Nothing against Bruce's amazing music, but I totally agree! The mind is made so sensitive by years of meditation that a loud rock concert is experienced as just so much agitation. // A good example for me of perception creating worlds in our minds is New Year's Eve. It's just a night like any other night, yet we put expectations on it, suggesting certain ways of acting, certain things (new year's resolutions) that 'should' grow out of it. I guess that could be true of any holiday. // I loved the Ajahn Chah quote!! Noting "the mind is already peaceful" really helps see the arising and passing thoughts as bubbles, blips in the vastness of peaceful mind.
