Thank you for giving credit to the tribes in Africa who did this LONG before Sisterlocks were a thing. I am American and taught in Tanzania and Ethiopia. My locs were never an issue...until I came back to the U.S. I had lots of sisters with Sisterlocks trying to school me on why my locs were "wrong". Before people get ready to pounce, they need to make sure they are properly educated on the origins first. Six years later, I still love my hair ❤❤❤❤.

I appreciate your videos so much. I had a Sisterlocks “consultant” who was way past her glory days. I had to unravel the entire front half of my head, and find another consultant who installed microlocks. I couldn’t be happier with my microlocks. I wish I started out with them from the beginning.

I follow a lot of loc content .. you might have heard of Yannie the only Locologist... In one of her (seminar) videos she said she grew up where interlocking was a normal part of life, way before the social medias and trends and stuff... So thin locks have always been a thing, even historically, and interlocking also always existed amongst Rasta communities

Yes Lawd! The SL website needs updating….BAD 😅! The videos are cheesy. The best way to get a good consultant is word of mouth. It’s best to do tons and tons of research and your video helps with that effort. In the state where I live braiding does not require a license as long as the Braider is not using chemicals or shampooing/conditioning the hair. Great job!

Yeah sounds like the sisterlocks creator didn’t anticipate how much the internet would effect her business. The rise of KZfaq and DIYers is a big force to come up against. Yes there’s still people who feel like it’s worth it to pay to get this done by someone certified but there’s just tooo many people who have figured out how to take care of their sister/mircolocs without these expensive trainings and tools. I installed my own mircolocs back in 2018 and currently self maintain them. Also, some of this company sounds like it’s just being extra for no reason. I remember videos of women on YT explain that this bougieness was a turn off to them getting sisterlocks put in in the first place.

You said it ALL. You did it in a balanced way too - gave Dr Cornwell her props, but pointed out where there is room for improvement. She and her sisters are not unaware I think (simply because I've heard so many people complain about the areas you pointed out, it's hard to imagine nobody has brought it to their attention). So it's either all 3 of them are unapproachable, or all three of them are extremely stuck in their ways and impervious to progress. Whichever it is, I see it as an opportunity for another black person to leverage on their shortcomings. I don't think she invented the interlocking technique. I think she happened on it while in Africa (might have been Egypt, but I'm not 100% certain). I'm grateful to her for starting a movement though. Another black woman can take it from here if she won't. Either way, it's a win for black people everywhere.

That's a WHOLE other story, with quite a bit of drama and a number of court cases and gallons of tea 😅😂. You could spend the whole day researching it. It's interesting though. Goof luck.
