Oh...my...goodness! I've been a Grobanite for 21 years. I've heard many a Josh Groban song. Everything he touches turns to gold. I believe in my heart that this is Josh at his best. He used his powerful baritone voice in so many different ways in this song. Bravo, Josh! I give you a standing ovation! 👏👏👏

I'm thrilled you pick this song Josh. Karen Carpenter's version is more from a third person's perspective and it feels a bit detached, whereas your version sounds more involved and intense as if you are telling a mate's story. Regardless, I love both versions. Glad you love this song too.

Lyrics :) There was a man, a lonely man Who lost his love, through his indifference A heart that cared that went unshared Until it died within his silence And solitaire is the only game in town And every road that takes him, takes him down While life goes on around him everywhere He's playing solitaire And keeping to himself, begins to deal And still the king of hearts is well concealed Another losing game comes to an end And he deals them out again A little hope goes up in smoke Just how it goes, goes without saying There was a man, a lonely man Who would command the hand he's playing And solitaire is the only game in town And every road that takes him, takes him down While life goes on around him everywhere He's playing solitaire And keeping to himself, begins to deal And still the king of hearts is well concealed Another losing game comes to an end And he deals them out again And solitaire is the only game in town And every road that takes him, takes him down While life goes on around him everywhere He's playing solitaire

53,right? 5 is the number of God's grace. 3 that's God, as well as a chord of 3 strands is not easily broken. That's scripture from Ecclesiasties. It's talking about marriage when we are bound with God. 5 plus 3 is 8. 8 is the number where we enter into God's rest. Be healed, in Jesus name. I love you 5Cents ❤with all my heart I do. Happy Birthday, Sweet Man. I will be without you but maybe you are good without me, now.

This rendition somehow has very similar vibes to your older music (pre-2015). I have a feeling that this song would feel at home somewhere between the latter tracks in Illuminations.
