After listening to kora for years including your work I have become the custodian of my own kora as from yesterday. Starting to learn Jarabi has its own deeper meaning for me and reason to learn to play it. Thank you for your generosity to upload these tutorials and sharing the wonderful and beautiful music of the kora and African culture.

May I ask which means you have used to send the kora from Senegal to Europe? I also bought one and it is stuck there due to lockdown

@@katerinachristaki9095 don’t worry it will come. I ordered one and I stressed about it.. it ended up having a lack of tracking and arrived without letting me know it even left customs (USA)

i'm trying to tune my 22 string kora in the jarabi tuning based on yr tutorial: so far i got Right Hand: 1) highest string A5 2) G5 3) F5 4) D5 5) B4 6) G4 7) E4 8) C4 9) A3 10) F3 11) unknown Left Hand: 1st string (highest string): Unknown 2d string: C5 3th string: A4 4th string: F4 5th string: D4 6th string: unknown 7th string: unknown 8th string: E3 9th string: D3 10th string: C3 11th string (lowest string): Unknown Can someone fill in the gaps & tell me if this is based on a traditional tuning & which one, muchas gracias amigos ! ! ! !

It depends where you buy it! in West Africa, you can get them for like £200 but ones made in Europe are much more expensive, of course
