Awesome! I love that you mentioned Paul Barton; you and him are responsible for helping me improve my technique/practice by orders of magnitude over the last few years. In my opinion, you two have the best classical piano teaching channels on KZfaq :D

Great vid Josh, I think that you rock!!! Well, i have to say in addition to this, like you said about teaching, too I just wanted to say is the patients a person has to have if they are going to teach. I have taught so many different people about playing, and structure and they lol funny as it seems left because the thing about people is they want to sit down right away, and play and when I tell people this, they are not so excited when they hear the reality of playing and practice. They at first have come to me and said indicated rather they are so excited to play and then when they had to get to the piano they were thinking other saying they don’t want to do it anymore. People have this thing about wanting to play right when they sit down. I always have told people in the past they can not just sit down and play like me. As boring as it seems, you have to learn the basics first.

Benjamin Brown well said Benjamin. Studies continuously show that piano is one of the most difficult endeavors, so far as brain power, that a human being can engage in. Anyone hoping for a quick path to Liszt Etudes or Rach 3 or Prokofiev 2 or any other crazy piece is in for a rude awakening haha. Keep up your great attitude of patience. I wish you all the best

Thanks so much and I can feel the support. This is why I told you about me playing the piano for a living, and how much I enjoy it. If I personally had to see about doing something different, I personally would not even consider it, because I was born, and raised up, in a family of musicians. It is such a great thing to bee able to bring things to others, and see their enjoyment. I know. Teaching on the other hand, is a whole different ball park, and it surely does take patients. Yes I will keep it up, and you as well. Too just wanted to letl you know you do have that great voice for inspiration as well. That is why I told you Keep living the dream!!!

Hey Josh, I have a quick question about Bach's Invention #10 in G Major. I'm learning this song for a college audtion. My left hand is very weak with the mordents and I just can't get it. Do you have any tips on how I can make my left hand as strong as my right?

Valarous Lingham for tips on mordents, apply the advice I gave in my trills video :) Also, the ProPractice Technique series has a lot of creative ways to practice strengthen technique
