Donald Trump was back in court today. This time, as the former president answers for his business dealings in New York, his empire could be at stake. The self-described property mogul has already been found liable for “persistent and repeated” fraud in this civil trial. David Cay Johnston is a Pulitzer Prize-winning economics reporter. He joins the show to discuss what this means for the Trump organization.

He, Tony Schwartz & Tim o' Brien have been there all along. They told us exactly who Trump was in 2015, with all the receipts. They foresaw *everything* that was to come. From Day 1. Soon after his victory, Mary Trump then gave us a roadmap into his mind and that of the family they were both born into. If anyone had been listening to these 4 people since 2015/16, none of what has transpired since would've come as a shock.

I met a woman whose family was in the kitchen cabinet part of the construction business. They were bidding on subcontracting for the Trump tower project in Florida. Her company's policy was half the money upfront, half when the job is finished. This would cover the cost of materials. Trump's people refused these terms and went with one of her competitors. By the end of the project, that competitor had to declare bankruptcy

I’ve heard it said many times that if he’d just put the money he’d inherited from his father in safe investments and not touched it he would have been better off financially. His business ventures have been failures. The only reason he seems successful is because he had so much money to play with from the start. But when you consider the extent to which he’s tried to con, defraud, and weasel money out of people. And he still failed to make more money than he would have if he’d just left it alone, makes it all the more pathetic.

He spent a year and traveled the world trying to warn everyone because he thought a Trump presidency might mean the end of the world since Trump really would launch a nuclear strike simply because someone told him he could not. The world dodged a bullet in that sense, but the bigger picture is Putin's war on democracy through running the rise of fascism. Trump is just a part of that along with Brexit and the Ukraine war. Putin is running a hate campaign against Trudeau here in Canada, because "conservatives" who would do his bidding are not popular enough and too obviously shady to win a majority. Hatred of immigrants, trans people and the woke is not enough to unify the country and win federally. They are only useful idiots but i still will not forgive them for putting the world at such a risk and it was knowingly: they had a weird nihilism saying they didn't care if Trump did launch a nuke and cause an environmental catastrophe of extinction magnitude, because they were so traumatized by having had a black president.

Finally, someone said it on air!!! Mar-a-Lago is NOT Donald Trump's "home" it is a private club that operates as a business. When he bought it, he tried to turn it into a resort, but the Town of Palm Beach refused to let him. This is what started the whole "giant American flag" lawsuit. Before running for president he rarely slept there except on special occasions or holidays. And even after 2016, he still spends less time at Mar-a-Lago than any of his other properties. His real home is and has always been in New York City. Why does this matter? Well, he claims to be a Florida resident so he can vote here. Effective 2024, Palm Beach County should take Donnie at his word and re-assess Mar a Lardo as being worth $2 billion for his property taxes. The rate is 1.11% so he would be liable for $22.2 million for 2024.
