Sr Julia, your story is so..inspiring, because ,you had an inquiring mind, and our Blessed Mother took you by the hand very simply, and took you to Jesus, who is the eternal Truth...very beautiful..how God works.. You were a child, so Jesus and Mary catechised you and your friend at where you were at...❤

This sister voices something that I have said exactly, as a Protestant, "Mary came out for the Nativity scene at Christmas, and then went right back into the closet"...this is the Protestant experience and it can be very damaging to the self-image given to girls in Protestant religions...very, very damaging...girls are not valued nor recognized in the Protestant faith...at all...dts/usa

I really enjoyed this conversation. Sister and I share the same name and there are many similarities between our conversion stories. I, too, was baptized by immersion in a protestant church called Church of Christ and a month later felt drawn to Mother Mary and the rosary. I started praying the rosary, l was drawn to the saints, especially St. Pio, St Therese De Lissieux, St. Theresa of Avila. But more importantly, unlike protestants, l truly believe that the Eucharist is truly the body and blood of Jesus Christ. So a few weeks after my baptism, l joined the RCIA classes. I was confirmed became the following easter and received the name of Mary, the Mother of God, who was instrumental in bringing me to the Catholic Church. I love my faith ❤

One of my religious aunts (I have 3 in different orders) is a Daughter of St. Paul, so this was an extra special episode for me. When I thought God was calling me to married life (discerning at age 16), I went for a week long summer program with the Daughters of St. Paul. Despite loving the writing aspect and being a big fan of Saint Paul, it was this trip that made it extremely clear that marriage was my calling. God sent me a gem of a man and I married him 4 years after my discernment visit. I'm right where God wants me, but I would be a Daughter of St. Paul if I had been called to religious life... it would suit me so well😂

Catholicism is not a new religion but natural continuation of Judaism under the new covenant established by Jesus with His salvation. His first followers were all Jews and they started this new covenant Judaism in their respective synagogues in Jerusalem, Antioch, Rome, Smyrna, Corinth etc. with the basic tradition like tabernacle alter menorah priesthood etc. intact which can be found only in catholic Church and the Church that Jesus established under the stewardship of Peter can fit only into Catholic Church not any other.
