Anyone for Steve Perry's one-in-a-billion voice in 2024?
@user-jh1eo3ho7n

Are you joking?!?! His voice is so beyond what ANY OTHER SINGER can do with their ‘vocal range,’ there is absolutely no one to compare him to. His gift is unbelievable and so outstanding, it literally hurts sometimes to hear him sing.

For the love of God, running around like that for the whole show, and still hitting all those notes so effortlessly. I mean, just the best there ever was. I am so grateful that I saw them at their peak, for this tour and Frontiers. Epic shows, both.

On this song, I can hit about 80% of the vocal high notes but the upper few get me so frustrated that I usually stop trying for a while. Regardless, I would have to be having a 1 out of a 100,000 day to even come close, much less running around the whole stage and still doing it. There is only 1 Steve Perry!!

J P You're right. Seeing Journey live was a M I G H T Y experience, but only in looking back have I realized how truly great it was. But it's usually TOO easy to take golden moments for granted when you're in your early years. On the other hand, wisdom says that we should ALL take time to notice today's gold, and stop long enough to be thankful, because too soon those moments will be consigned to the past, too. Appreciate your comment, J P. ❤️

The Voice....Mr. Perfect Pitch. Met him on a couple of occasions while working security...fantastic human being with uncanny sense of humor. He knew he was good, but never flaunted it. Stevie and Ian Gillan were the greatest I've ever heard. Gillan a bit more rangey, but Stevie's clarity and pitch are second to none, including Mercury.

Especially during this version, Cain, Ross, and Schon backed Perry up perfectly to where none of them over powered another and it came to be a perfect blend of their voices. I also think they dont get enough credit due to Perry having that one of a kind voice that led Journey

I’m saying it. There is no Journey without Steve Perry. No one can hit those notes like he can. No one. He hit a high c with the guitar. Gosh I wish that they’d get back together.

@@danielstewart7163 Another one (although in different genres of music) is Rory Gallagher, who could sing and play well at the same time. Moreover, Neal Schön was left-handed and could play right-handed guitar even BETTER than Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, yet the elder, latter one gets ALL of the accolades for his just-above-average playing. But you can rest assured that all of the credit that Jimmy Page is getting is unmerited, not to mention that it has NOTHING whatsoever to do with talent, as usual. The VERY same thing applies to John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, who was a rather predictable drummer... I have seen MUCH better drummers than the likes of him; but hey, what do I know? Life never HAS been fair, sad to say. 😤🙄😔

I have seen Journey live dozens of times. So did all the concert goers in the 70's (in Southern California)....they were the warm up band. 90% of the time they blew away the top acts!.....yes, they were better than Robin Trower- Santana-Seals and Croft-Grateful Dead- Etc......they were just starting out in the early 70's and they were hungry!
