One thing I really love about Steve is that there is apparently no hint of jealousy toward arnel. The first time they met was at the Rock and roll Hall of Fame induction and he hugged Darnell and told the camera how great he was and how proud he was of him carrying the band now. it's got to be nearly impossible not to feel threatened when someone that good takes over for you but he really seemed at peace with it.

S Des this isn’t even live, it’s his vocals from Live in Manila recording in 2009 dubbed over and Arnel’s performance was really bad during RRHOF. Steve Perry is a nice guy, he just gave a shout out to Arnel during his speech.

He is still singing and releasing records but considering his age and illness, he doesn’t sound quite as sharp as he was before. Pineda, being vigorously in good health, and younger than Perry can sing with acuate pitch. Without regards for his Asian diction and pronunciation, Pineda can sing at the same vocal range with Perry. Both are tenors and sound almost the same.

Original broke down, and you have to replace them to keep you going. That is also true in a car. Original parts service very good and unequal as compare to replacement parts. He sings very well. This is a great song when anyone nails it like he does. But this isn't Journey to me. Like saying it would be Led Zeppelin without Page or Plant.

Arnel is very hit or miss. When he's ON like he is in this performance he's a very good singer and definitely a good front man for the band. But there are many examples - just search on here - and you'll find plenty of times where he's been outright awful.

Gleeming Glow Steve Perry was an amazing singer! I would have loved to see him live! Arnel doesn’t think he is better than Steve Perry, he is in fact one of Steve Perry’s biggest fans. Arnel is absolutely amazing live. One of the best live singers I have ever witnessed. Just because Steve Perry isn’t doing concerts anymore, doesn’t mean you have to rip on Arnel. Journey probably wouldn’t still be touring without Arnel, at least not as well.
