Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame inductees Journey return to Japan for a very special concert filmed at Budokan, the legendary arena in Tokyo in 2017 . This concert film captures the iconic rock band recreating their legendary albums Escape and Frontiers, in an explosive once in a lifetime performance.
Opening with the iconic Don’t Stop Believin’, the band rips through a two hour set featuring songs such as Open Arms, Who’s Crying Now, Separate Ways (Worlds Apart), Stone in Loveand Faithfully. After the close of their performance of Frontiers, Journey returns to the stage to perform two blistering extended encores of La Raza del Soland Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'.

Perry gave his blessing in person to Arnel during the Rock H.O.F. Arnel was in tears and hugged him. He told him this is your band and you deserve and belong in Journey.

They hated this guy because they cannot accept the fact that Perry was no longer in the band anymore but will always be the face of Journey. Instead of hating why not thank him for also reviving the band and keeping the Journey Alive up to this day and remind the people and the new generation today how Steve Perry so great and a legend as a Rockstar and as a frontman of Journey.

Can you imagine what the band had to be thinking when they first decided to start looking for a replacement for Steve’s voice? I would have said, it’s useless to even try, but they tried anyway, and the rest is history. Arnel is fantastic!

Steve's voice had its own unique tone and timbre that made it so special, but Arnel is a phenomenal vocalist with a god-given talent. What a blessing for Journey to find him.

Go back and see the first one he did when he was in Manila Philippines, when he first joined the band if you think this one brought chills, you will feel the love and appreciation that he has for Journey ,you will feel the love and appreciation that he has for what they have done for him. Tou hit the mark. Why can’t people just appreciate what’s been given to them? We can love both singers in their different ways. I personally believe SP is the better singer in his prime and I think everyone would agree with that but hating on Arnel is just ridiculously stupid. The guy is as close to Steve Perry in terms of replacement and doing a fantastic job at it. And SP is hitting 70yo. He probably wouldn’t be able to give a performance like this today.

What I love about Journey is the *‘Journey’* itself no matter who the lead singer is. I take Arnel as a blessing, he has his own voice and it's very beautiful to keep the band alive... It's 2022 already life is short so enjoy it while it's still there. ❤🏳

I was stationed in Yokosuka Japan onboard the USS Reeves CG 24 from 85-89. Every visit (and there were a lot) to Olongapo City I would spend nights at Cal Jam on Magsaysay Blvd to see Arnel and the “Te Amo Band.” I knew then that there were bigger things in store. An awesome talent!

Amazing. Do you know why Neal and the boys chose a humble man from the Philippines to replace the irreplaceable Steve Perry? The answer is simple. They chose Arnel because no one else could do it. And now Arnel has been the lead singer for Journey much longer than Steve Perry was. If you can't appreciate that then you're not a Journey fan.

You missed the most important point STEVE PERRY MADE JOURNEY & ARNEL SAVED THEM FROM OBSCURITY.... Both men are great in their own way, but Perry was given the ultimate compliment and nickname by Jon Bon Jovi "THE VOICE" high praise from another phenomenal rock vocalist. Arnel is good has a very close range to Perry, but Perry's voice was more emotive, silky, velvety smooth his harmonies and pitch are to die for. If your going to replace "The Voice" Arnel is as good as you get, but when he goes Journey is done Cain & Schon are pushing 70 now they don't have another 10 yrs to hang around and wait for an awesome replacement for Arnel hope they take better care of Arnel then they did Perry....

"Close your eyes listen to AP's versions" then ask yourselves if it's really about SP or AP. Or is it about the magical voice that continued the journey. After all, a lot of older bands are not the same anymore and yet Journey is reaching out to new heights, every nationalities in every corners of the world. Including closed out arenas and sold out tickets. Already on his 13th year, at some point AP will retire. Whether you love him or hate him, I hope everyone realizes that it was his calling to be the successor. For now lets cherish, enjoy and savor every moment of it. I lived my AWESOME teenage years with power bands like Journey, Rush, A/C D/C, Van Halen. Steve Perry's voice back then is what made all the girls cry as we boys slow danced and promised them forever. God...what a time! Arnel does that now a does a superb job honoring this band and my teen age memories. Thanks for that.

It is inevitable that the comparison to Steve will be made..he is a legend unto himself. His vocals are in a class of their own. Just for a moment however, imagine if this was the only version of Journey you had ever heard. You would still be impressed with the singer. Nobody compares to Steve Perry but Arnel is a fantastic vocalist who deserves that credit.

I have been rooting for Arnel ever since I first heard of him joining the band. I love Steve Perry, don't get me wrong, but this is a tough gig and big shoes to fill and Arnel is absolutely phenomenal and I love seeing how much he has matured since!

KDA (G) IDLE Actually Silicon Valley and other centers in America lead the world in many areas from Google to Tesla. Even the most advanced robotics are created by Boston Dynamics, which Japan actually bought due to them being so advanced. And assembly line robots were invented in America japan just made it better. Also the airplane, the internet, the lightbulb, GPS, the television. The first fully developed versions of these things anyway, which is what inventing something is. You made the fully working version.

I'm 55 years old and listened to Journey in the 70's...I LOVE Steve Perry as the front man. I must say though this guy does the band justice. I will never lose my perspective that Steve is the voice of Journey. I must say though that the current lead singer is as good as Steve and I have no problem with him leading the band!! Thanks for the upload!! Long live Journey!!

Saw them live in Dallas and it was amazing. The entire band still plays with the same energy I can only imagine they had back in the 70's and 80's! Shout out to Arnel for sounding incredible!

I understand people can make themselves sounds like other singers but it is rare. I find it astonishing they found someone who sounded so much like Steve. Was a miracle honestly.

Listening to Journey brings me back to the 80's when we were a bunch of innocent high school kids, genuinely cared and enjoyed each other's friendships. The internet age desensitized that connection. The 80's was the best time to grow up. 👍👍😀😆😉😁

Arnel is so down to earth and humble!! He doesn’t even realize he’s a legit ROCKSTAR! Born with incredible vocals and a musical soul ! You rock brother and to pull off what you did was impossible for anyone, but your not just anyone, GOD real does work in amazing ways!👍🏻🍻🇨🇦❤️

Arnel almost past his 40’s maybe 50 but his range is still there while Perry voice already decline dramatically..... just saying , I do like Steve Perry though one of those great rock vocalist but Arnel is something special

One of the first videos I’ve watched on the day I accidentally stumbled upon Arnel on YT last year. I watched it over and over. I instantly became a Journey fan that day. Love him!

I am just being grateful for America. We were greatly influenced by their form of education, government, practically all the good things. Our language fluency perfectly honed by America. Even the way we think logically. Arnel is a manifestation of a talent appreciation for the world to see and listen how America honed us in music and language, voice, rythem, runs, tone, placement, pitch, the high & lows, the use of head, chest, lyrics, and the crystal clear pronunciation, etc. Great Arnel. Great Philippine indendent, and a sovereign nation. We appreciate you America. And, we love you Journey! We Love you Arnel 🇵🇭
