Easily the 2nd best singer. Wish he could have stayed longer. Never got the respect he deserved. He has a great smooth flow with his vocals.

Agreed. Arnel cannot match. Augeri carried Journey for an important decade and we have immense respect towards him.

@@davidb.8948 Agree also . It's amazing how many fans don't know the bands history . They actually think Perry left .. and Arnel came right in the band . Never having a clue Steve A. was the guy that helped them carry on since the late 90's .

Saw him around this time and was pleasantly surprised he sounded good and gave the songs its authentic feel. Arnel has not disappoint so far, but nothin or nobody can replace Steve😕

Steve Augeri was an excellent frontman for Journey ... abused, his infection was belittled, and they screwed his voice. What a world-class singer.

I was able to see this lineup not before Steve started having vocal problems. They were definitely NOT using playback here. He was singing this for sure.

@@madpriest7822 This is old news by now and I really don't want to reopen a can of worms. Augeri live vs Augeri on the 2001 Vegas DVD is very distinct and apparent to most fans. There are other examples during this concert, but only this song is full playback.

Trivia about this song.. something like Jon Cain told Steve he bumped into his ex maybe Sherrie and Steve said something like "send her my love" ..Jon mused oh it's a song so to make long story short they did make it into a song a very nice one

They have tried to duplicate Steve Perry but can never replace his voice. Steve is the greatest vocalist of all time, period.

He left the band in 06 because they toured for like 8 years with no breaks for the guy's voice, and his voice gave out on him. Overworked, just like they do with all of their singers.

More likely he caught a cold and the virus robbed his falsetto voice through paralysis. It happened to me and to David Archuleta. See David's book "Learning to sing".

Mike Stamper Probably not in 2004 but later when his voice took more damage. This sounded authentic. I saw them in 1999 and he sounds the same here.

Steve Perry FUCKED Journey in 1985 because of his SWOLE HEAD over STREET TALK'S success. In 1996 Steve Perry SPITED Journey's request for him to get hip surgery, to be in time for the TRIAL BY FIRE Tour.

This being my favorite Journey song, I swore that I would NOT listen to them without Steve Perry. However, Arnel Pineda is AMAZING!!!!! Steve was ok, but the only person REMOTELY in the same league as Steve is Arnel.

Incredibly good vocals... But not Steve ! Arnel was able to duplicate Steve’s voice and give the fans a close to original experience.

Same here. I wish people would just let Perry go and accept the current singer now. Yes no one can do it exactly like Perry but hey the man doesn’t want to tour and sing anymore so that’s that. Arnel does a great job and I accept him and enjoy the show. Have a hood one.🇺🇸👍🏻

ok now,,,steve agueri sings it better than arnel,,,but nobody sings this better than steve perry. The original singer is always better,,,,steve agueri does however get it close tho,,but hes no steve perry,,,,as with arnel,,you can still hear the accent slightly,,,,,rock on journey
