It's no doubt that he does a great job ! the only problem is many act like he's more important .. to the band than Perry was . Which is biased nonsense . This song he's singing as an example was co-written by Perry-Cain-Schon and recorded by them , and a hit before anyone knew Arnel . He does a fantastic job .. but he did not make these songs with the band . This is why even he did not take the spotlight when Perry was on stage at the HOF awards . He has class and knows these songs belong to Perry , Schon , Cain , Rollie .

Very cool close footage. Love this extended live version. Although nobody will ever be able to truly replace Steve Perry, Arnel Pineda is the closest to the real deal. You can feel his great passion as well.

I have never seen them in concert, and it’s too hard for me to get around anymore. But I love their music regardless of who their lead singer is. I close my eyes and I can’t tell the difference.

Thanks for sharing this, God bless you. Let me start off by saying that I cannot believe that I missed this beautiful gem when I in fact live in Arizona which is rather shameful. As a 80's baby, I have to say, Steve Perry has my heart. He is unmatched, a living legend. But I can honestly say that Arnel Pineda did immaculate, he brings a different tune to it which is also heartfelt. I'm sure he absolutely felt the pressure, I mean he is covering SP song. I am going to share this with my friend and her husband who is also a Filipino and his name is also Arnel, they have a slight resemblance. I truly cannot believe that AP is 54 here wow!! he looks 30's ish. I saw it in the comments and had to look it up to fact check. The band looks really amazing and Neal still savage and Jonathan, wow respect

@Jo-Jo, Yes, I live through SP's years and it's a well-known fact that he's The Voice, but after more than 3o years, I have moved on, as SP had moved on too!! I contributed a great deal to Journey'ss success, BUT having Arnel Pineda around, he gave life, and ignited energy and fire to Journey's band whose popularity was floundering when SP left!.. To be sure, I saw him at the venue in 2022 in Tampa, Florida, and he gave an EPIC performance at the time that social media was saying that AP was having vocal problems.. The guy is doing LIVE Concerts on TOUR, even popular rock stars like B Springsteen, Rod Stewart, and S Tyler got those feelings under the weather on Tour, BUT the show must go on, and those guys admitted that. Some bashers were still there who cannot move on!! **I just saw at the venue a Journey Concert in Canada, in Quebec CityMarch 2023) all sold out tickets of 19,000 and AP performed incredibly well!!. It was another EPIC performance!!!! With what is doing on with Journey band feuds, and if they are including their nonsense line about what Neal's wife is putting on line upsets Arnel, if AP got burnout because of his strenuous Touring, plus that toxic environment, it would not be AP fault if he gets burn out! The gut is a golden goose of Journey, to replace him after more than 15 years is suicide for the band. --AP is the longest-tenured frontman of Journey!! You should take a chance to see a LIVE Concert in person, in case AP decides to rest or retire for good. I hope not as I would like to see his Live performance again!!!

Close your eyes and it’s hard to tell it’s not Steve. A true rags to riches study for Arnel, from homeless to rockstar and frontman for Journey. A true legendary vocalist. Steve couldn’t hit these notes anymore with the precision that Arnel does and Arnel is 20 years younger. It’s a shame it sounds like he’s going to be leaving the band after 15/16 years, but Deen and Jason have proven they can sing a lot of these songs very well too. So much respect for Arnel. 👊👊

Yes there is a difference. I have seen there 1st concert with Steve and any many others of their concerts all over the US. Steve is way better. No one can sing Steve's songs like Steve Perry. This youngman is good, but he is not a Steve Perry. It's a shame that Steve Perry can't seam to put bad blood behind him and come and do a return concert for his fans. But it seams its all abt Steve. It's disappointing 😞 PS Send her my Love is my favorite of all their songs and I don't know why they don't do thst beautiful song more for the fans!!

We duh, it hasn’t been Steve fronting this band for a couple decades at least. So yeah, he doesn’t sound like Steve. Good thing too, because Steve is 73 and doesn’t have it vocally anymore. This song now has an extended ending that was made for Arnel’s voice.

Perry hasn't done a full concert since 1994, and he's vocally nowhere near where he used to be. Not hating the guy, but that's just the cold truth. Also, Arnel sounds just fine here and he's been doing a great job after 15 years or so with Journey.
