My mom is the woman at 00:48 She absolutely loved Journey and the fact she made it into this video always made her so happy. She would talk about this moment all the time, especially when Journey would come on the radio. We ended up playing this song at her funeral in her memory when she passed away from cancer.

I remember as a teenager in Orlando Florida ...the Tampa station played the hell out of this song but from could only get that station when the weather was just right ...when I heard the intro the hair on my arms stood up and goose bumps appeared and I'd sing along ...I remember the dark room with only the light of stereo dial .... The mood was awesome

I’ve actually given thought to this and I don’t think you want to go back to the 1980s. I think if we could we would be miserable. Sure it was a great decade and we can look back fondly and romanticize it but we did not have the technology back then as we do today especially medicine as well as the things that are familiar to us today.

Steve is older and he can't belt out singing this intense anymore. As for Steve leaving Journey, he simply pushed his will on the band to the point of ultimatums which simply caused the breakup of Journey. I was lucky to see Journey three times in their prime and 3 times after Perry's departure; I agree without Perry in his prime that something is lost but their steadfast continuity after Perry is respectable especially with Steve Smith back on drums where he is crucial to Journey's sound.

John Keller When he stopped singing, he lost a lot. I was in the Broadway show Annie & could sing like an angel but stopped. Never regained it. Of course Steve isn’t able to sing some of the higher notes & doesn’t have the range he did in his prime however, he still sounds incredible! I’m so glad he’s back & sharing his talent with us once again❤️

This song was written by Jonathan Cain and Steve. He told this story that a friend of his ex-girlfriend came backstage after a show and told Jonathan his ex said “hello” and his response was “Send her my love”. Less than a week later, Jonathan and Steve wrote the song in 2 hours.

Clearly, the voice of a generation. This was the band who filled stadiums, nightly. If we got wind Steve was reuniting with Journey, you couldn't find a stadium large enough to hold the fans.

Sadly he wont say he was interviewed a few months ago the lady kept asking but he didnt say anything but he does have a new album coming out he wont say say when or if hes gonna go on tour by himself if he does i hope he will play some journey too and ive seen journey when arnie sings for them hes amazing but id give anything to see steve preform with journey in a concert i wasnt born till 92 so i wasnt lucky enough to see steve preform

+puckster73 I couldn't agree more. I absolutely love Steve Perry, he IS amazing, but without them there wouldn't be Journey. Steve alone made his way in a solo project and it was beautiful, but still wasn't Journey. Saying that's like trying to take away four fingers and still pretending that could be a hand... you just can't. Journey is Journey and Steve Perry alone is another thing. Steve Perry in Journey is PART of Journey

+Marie Morrison Yes, it's definitely hard to imagine Journey without Steve. Too bad, though, that Steve apparently felt disassociated from the band during his whole time with them and, to him, it never truly felt like a family, at least according to a documentary I saw ("The Journey Story"). But, of course, there are similar stories from other bands, like Van Halen. Oh well, no one can take away our great Journey memories!!

Yes, Music's time has come and gone!! Thank the Lord I was born in 65 and grew up in the 70's and 80's. We got to live and hear all this new music, and all the new genres that were developing and becoming popular. This will never again be able to happen.

Michael, I agree..Steve Augeri was a very close 2nd to Steve Perry...I remember hearing his stuff for the first time back when I was young thinking it was Perry himself. Thats a major compliment.
