With Taliban territory continuing to fall to the Northern Alliance, we look back to when the Uzbek warlord, General Dostum, first joined up with Massoud to form an alliance against the Taliban. At the height of his power, Dostum controlled six provinces in the north of Afghanistan, and commanded an extraordinary following amongst his people, who named him Pasha - "the King". A rare glimpse of one of the most resilient of the opposition commanders.

Be a single nation of Afghan is not possible for centuries. In my opinion let Afghan live their own life and tradition. Super powers should not poke their nose in their affairs. Don’t try to make Afghan educated, civilised, cultured and human. Any one try to do so will make a mistake. There is a poem narrated by Shaikh Sadi اگر قحط الرجال افتند سیہ اُنسیت کم گیری اول افغان دوئم کمبوہ سوئم بزاز کشمیری Meaning that if there is a crisis of people in the world. You can’t find a man on earth you be away and don’t love and relations with three communities, first Afghan, second Comboh, and third Kashmiri.

For those who didnt know, when the Taliban enters Kabul few days ago, they found General Dostum's house as well as dozens of treasure (yes a literally treasure inside his house). long story short, they eventually mocking the generals' coward manner by taking photo using his uniform with its tons of medals

@@Starburst7641 In 1996 10% of the country until 2001 was rule by the Northern Alliance which he was boss and the other 90% the Taliban, however when the Taliban was routed, naturally the old Northern Alliance areas were intergrated. Now the Afghan resistance doesn't even have that. They have a small pocket north east of Kabul, nothing like back in the 90s.
