CELEBRATING! New Year's Eve Party in a FRENCH CHATEAU - Journey to the Château de Colombe, Ep. 63

Жыл бұрынIn this week's episode, Patrick and Stuart show their preparation for their New Years Eve party with the help of their good friend Florence. Patrick's father shows how he cooks red cabbage for Christmas dinner, and Patrick and Stuart prepare and serve the Christmas pudding that was gifted to them by friends/patrons/volunteers Martin and Margaret.
Join Patrick and Stuart on their journey to find a neglected, forgotten, or crumbling château or castle in France, and then continue to follow them as they work on its restoration, rénovation, decoration, and furnishing. Along the way, they will also create and share videos on their preparation for having gîtes for guests, and an event venue in their chateau (wedding, birthday, anniversary, organization or club meetings, retreats, etc.).

Hi guys, I always forgot to tell you how much I loved your original opening. So when I heard you were doing a new one, I was hoping you didn’t stray too far from the unique graphics and kept the music the same. I wasn’t the least bit disappointed! Excellent job! I really love Christmas Pudding. A lot of people prefer to make them way in advance. I have no problem with aged Christmas Pudding, but I find them equally delicious when they are fresh. This year my friend made one the day before and I cannot tell you how sublime it was! Living without a kitchen is a hassle, but easier than living without a bathroom! Thank you for the video!

Yes usually they put RUM IN these to really flavor up. No booze in our Puddings tho.maybe RUM flavoring only if she had any. My mother used to always make a white butter sauce for Christmas pudding also or a Carmel sauce. I have made my own Christmas puddings several times and gave them away too. I even had one at Easter a few times I froze in freezer uncooked in a glass jar!!! OH God I'm getting Hungry now. They r so 👍 awesome💗

Watching your Dad cook was so nice, I love pickled red cabbage...couldn't help but notice his humour when he mentioned cloves being effective for a toothache! You certainly resemble your Dad Patrick! we used a double burner propane camp cooker for a year and a toaster oven and only had a mini sink was wild but it worked out have fun

Great way to start the new year with a video from my favorite chateau on KZfaq. I loved seeing everyone together. I've never put cloves or bay leaves in my red cabbage but I will be now. The kitchen renovation sounds exciting. I don’t remember the existing flooring, but agree if you’re not satisfied this is the time to make a change. I find some of your flooring, like the blue and white squares, timeless and in keeping with the historical elements of the chateau. The new bathroom in the gite is a great idea. Happy New Year!!

It was good to see that you had a good New Years Eve. The red cabbage which your father used is the same brand which I use. It seems to be international. I liked that he added the onions, bay leaf and cloves. I have never added these, but will try in the future. Looking forward to the renovations. Happy New Year.

Like everyone else I loved the whistle show lol.. so funny. It all went off really well and looked as magical as ever. My 3 days of feasting and feeding was up in the 35-37 degrees here in Melbourne!!! It was a shocker, but the show has to go on doesn't it! I sent a thank you for the lovely Christmas card, but thank you again it was a lovely surprise. Most of my cards arrived after Christmas, we have shocking mail problems here. Love you guys 😘😘And Happy New Year!

Morning Stuart & Patrick, yea, now the celebrations are over as good and wonderful as they were, now it is shoulder to the wheel. A pity about the unwell guests, but better to stay away and get better, then those that could attend, it all looked jolly and a lot of fun as good food had been enjoyed. That is so typical with a terrier placing it's face on the table! Just trying to see if anything was available!! Wishing you all the very best with the renovation projects, it will go well. Just keep calm and think of the end result, it will be so worth a bit of inconvenience. Happy days take care.

Hi guys. The chandelier was so beautiful. Exquisit gift. The mirrors were perfect finds. You have finding auction treasures down to a science. Patrick, you are a true craftsmen. Great patience in lamp overhaul. Loved seeing Luna also. Your New Year's party was so festive and the food looked to beautifully to eat. Liked seeing your Dad knowing his way around the kitchen.
