Hanlon motorsports told me that heat cycles are more important than 500 miles. Around town driving, start and stop is the best way to break in a new clutch. Hitting the highway for 500 miles won’t cut it.

makes sense. appreciate the information man🤘🏼

V true also highway driving doesn’t actually actuate the clutch it’s just locked when your in fifth

Also once the terminal is tightened down you can Bend it to help you get more clearance
@JovanMichaels8 ай бұрын
Yeah i did end up bending the terminal to gain clearance. I think we’ll be alright now 🤘🏼

Racers go to town with new clutches because they are sponsored. I think you have more than enough stop and go miles to start ripping it.
@JovanMichaels8 ай бұрын
yeah sounds about right.. ill continue to cruise the car with some spirited driving here and there before we start ripping her. 🤘🏼

I’m glad Mrs Parker didn’t burn down! I have a feeling that was the cause of all you alternator issues.
@JovanMichaels8 ай бұрын
yeah man. most certainly was causing some sort of issue.

I cut all my hair off after I kept getting it caught in the creeper wheels hahaha this video makes me want to check all my battery cables again since putting it in the trunk
@JovanMichaels8 ай бұрын
yeah man. Probably something we should include in regular maintenance.. easily overlooked and very dangerous.
@Joebauers25058 ай бұрын
not sure of your mechanical knowledge but if you fire the car up and remove the post from the battery and the car continues to run the alternator is fine, if it shuts down its a bad alternator.

sweet, appreciate the information 🤘🏼

Cant trust those alternator tests at the parts stores, once had them test ten alternators, they said 9 of 10 were bad, all those alternators went into cars and had no issues. From what youve described here it sounds like and intermittent voltage regulator problem in the alternator. Send it back and get the replacement. I just did one on a grand Marquis, reman out of the box was bad, problem was remedied with a brand new one. Edit After seeing what caused that small fire, that could be all the electrical problems right there.

yeah man. Im hoping once i get this sorted, we will be in good shape! 🤘🏼

Add ignition advance just below idle and retard timing just above. Should help smooth it out.

You gotta raise the hold time on the iac so it doesn’t do that
@JovanMichaels8 ай бұрын
yeah but i got to raise the iac hold time only when its under a certain temp. Cause then it will hang too long on warm starts.
@robertfisk83448 ай бұрын
Sounds like a grounding issue with your alternator make a ground wire with and terminals on both ends connected to your alternator bolt the other to your chassis better yet if you have a long enough cable run it back to the battery that would be even better remember there's no such thing as too many ground straps anyways glad the car didn't burn down best of luck to u keep the content coming
