I tend to look at the manga in a lens that’s like “how will this translate into the anime?” I never feel like I get the full picture until the anime comes around. I always miss things or don’t register things. I enjoy the manga, but the anime is what tends to make or break things for me. All I can say, is the anime lovers are gonna be EATING for the next year and a half.

I really like the greed conversation because to me the whole point of Luffy's character arc throughout the whole series is the evolution of his desire/greed. In the beginning Luffy just wants to gather a strong crew and be PK, overtime that evolves to the reason for wanting to be PK being to be the freest man. Post-TS Luffy says he doesn't want to be a hero he just helps people because he likes them, then in Wano that evolves to "I want everyone to eat as much as they want". Following that, it would make sense to me that the ultimately evolution for Luffy would be "I want the world to be free from the WG/Imu". As for Blackbeard, the assumption is that he wants to be King of the World like Rocks did which is the polar opposite to Luffy. So the question, and what I think his backstory will reveal, is what we're the equivalent steps in his journey to Luffy's "I just want a strong crew" & "I don't want to be a hero" moments? Is there possibly another ultimate desire that would equivalent & opposite to Luffy's?

Hey Par on your last stream I noticed you were wondering why oda used “19 percent chance of a “certain man” Dying, My theory Is it is because the SUN card in the Tarot deck is labeled with the number 19 on it. Could also tie into to why he could have been talking about Luffy since he is the SUN GOD.

The real reason as to why people think that Kid and killer are alive is because Oda just doesn't kill enough characters. Hell even a bozo like Pound somehow survived. There is a reason why people still think that Kaido and Big Mom could still come back. He has burnt his own readers into thinking that deaths are just gonna be a fake out.

Doing what York was “subjugated” to sounds good on paper but after a while it becomes an issue. I would also go so far to say that working in a job where you are unchallenged is even worse than overworking. doing nothing is also very tiring and exhausting and can lead to depression

The big reason I think people are disappointed in it bring York is that... well you can't beat the shit outta York. One of the best parts of having a traitor reveal is seeing that traitor come to Justice. But York is nobody. York is a satellite. She's empty like Wapol (is the perception). I personally love the reveal, cause it's really interesting what Oda is saying about the interplay of Desire and Dreams and Justice and Ambition. But I'll admit... it's more unfortunate that you can't fight or serve Justice to York.

I think even if Kidd is alive he will be a broken character. Just like how we saw the broken characters at long ring island his pirate flag is destroyed, His ship is split in two. I think he is down for the count. All the examples u mention in Wano and with Kuma, Luffy's ship and flag did not get a scratch. Kidds ship is gone just like Mobydick in marineford so I feel like this is the last time we see Kidd.

I don't get the hate for Kidd from this chapter tbh. I mean Luffy has gotten owned by stronger opponents many times before. This is no different for Kidd.

Was talking with my brother about the chapter and he said that Blackbeard's crew is definitely going to Egghead for Vegapunk and Caribou. When I asked about why he thought Caribou he said the usual but also added that he will be one of the triggers for Luffy to go after BB, after all he knows Shirahoshi is Poseidon. And differently from Vivi's situation, the SHs will try to save her since she can't defend herself.
