This song kinda changed my life. I was heavily depressed and dependant on cocaine/speed. I actually decided to stop the night I first heard this song. I'm not a big joyner fan but this song really spoke to me. I related so much to the first verse. I'm still kinda depressed but been off all drugs for a year now.

Yeah, so this song was in Joyner's Album, 508-507-2209 (Somehow memorized that) and Joyner's manager told Logic's manager that they did a number for their album, and logic thought it was cool and a year later Logic came out with 1-800. The two were still a little heated over Sriracha because it took Logic over 6 months and he just half assed and freestyled his whole verse and it disrespected Tech N9NE and Joyner.

The phone number is Joyners number and its the name of his album. His manager told logics manager they were going to do a phone number for the album name, The idea was presented to logic and he liked the idea of using a phone number. So it wasn’t specifically a “rip off” of this song in particular, more so of the phone number idea in general. Either way I feel both artists intentions were pure in making these suicide prevention songs and good on them for pushing the message.
@FMA4ever123
@FMA4ever123 5 жыл бұрын
+Tommy OBrien I mean mostly everything is speculation until Logic or his manager truly admit to it, but the suicidal awareness theme and the phone number is pretty damning that it was ripped off, but like you said it wasn't specifically "ripped" off.. but what was Logic going to do? Use the exact same numbers as Joyner did? Now that would have been insane

I'm glad to hear my opinion on the Logic vs Joyner suicide song voiced here. Logic's is pop and catchy. Any sad 16 year old relates to it. Joyner's song is hard hitting and impactful. Much more believable than, "WHO CAN RELATE? WOOOO!"

Listen. I love Logic. But every single damn time that song played on the radio I'd cringe and be dumbfounded at that fucking line, "WHO CAN RELATE? WOO!" You should react to the following 6 Kendrick songs: •Swimming Pools (Drank) - an anti-drinking song describing how people drink after everything (hence “Drank”) and how alcohol influences teenagers and people with a drinking problem. Ironically becoming a drinking anthem. •Backseat Freestyle - addresses how kids dream of having bitches, riches, money, and materialistic things instead of dreaming of becoming an advocate, some one with a voice in society or someone to be idolized by making a change in their generation. •King Kunta - self explanatory song •Momma - one of my favorite Kendrick tracks, his word play, alliteration, and rhyming and staying on beat is truly remarkable in this song, especially the first verse. •The Blacker The Berry - All you need to know is that Kendrick is talking in the perspective of a community as a whole. •ELEMENT - great song with great production about how Kendrick is the best in the rap game and dares anyone to call him out.

This song is a masterpiece. A literal masterpiece. As for the logic shit it's obvious but coincidences happen way too much in music for us to pinpoint this to validate an argument. Logics song is still great with three perspectives of the suicidal person, the talk with the hotline and finally the person feeling better. Its still a great song and no the "woo" doesnt take away from it its not a pumped up woo its satirical. Still joyner made a masterpiece I have no other words for it.

Yes it came out before logics but everyone please realize this... logics manager had a conversation with Joyner about the number of his album, no correlation to “im sorry” and when that conversation took place logic was already writing the song 1-800. I doubt think logic stole his idea. Also both of their songs are different. Just the topic at hand is suicide and Joyner doesn’t own Suicide. Imo Joyner had the better video tho, logics just made a bigger impact. Sucks they were beefing for that short time

Please do Lupe Fiasco- Murals. You'll probably need the lyrics to help understand because he has very dense complex lyricism. There is currently a bit of a beef that he has with Kendrick Lamar because he believes Kendrick Lamar is overrated as a lyricist especially on the control verse and believes Kendrick has copied or at least been heavily inspired by him. In my opinion in terms of lyricism he outclasses 99-100% of everyone you've reacted to so far atleast in Hip Hop.

Y'all have been looking for a good rock/metal-hip hop crossover. You can stop your search at Spiritual Healing by Dalek. It's a really old song that I just discovered. It blew me away. Definite headbanger. Simon's gonna break his other collarbone listening to this. Great content, keep it up guys. Scrolling for your videos is a part of my daily routine.

First time heard this song a guy a my school had committed suicide the same day. I didnt know the guy at all, some of My good friends did however, which made the song hit me real hard. Masterpiece by Joyner, no doubt.
