Hi again. This pedal has been a lifesaver. Your demo has helped loads too so thanks. Any idea the best way to add a noise gate? I have the electro harmonic silencer to cut out the noise from my octave and distortion pedals. Do I add the noise gate into its own separate loop after the noisy pedals? Or add the pedal within the same loop as the distortion for example? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

That's great to hear and glad the video helped. I know initially watching it it probably seems like nonsense but once you have the pedal it all makes sense and second nature. I'd probably put it on the main output. Unless you have a spare loop at the end of the overdrives. Some noise gates will even work on the way in to all the pedals as it obviously works on the fading out guitar signal. Try it before and after the joyo first to save using a bank is my advice. Thanks again.

Hello Marcus. I have all my etc pedals plugged in to the correct in and outs. I don’t go out to an amp. I go directly to a mixer then out to speakers. I am using the guitar in then loop 1 out to my mixer. I am having trouble getting hearing the pedals. But after watching the video I get none of the lights. Is there some way different I should plug in.

Having an issue, every time I record a loop on the RC1 and then try to put on another pedal after what I’ve recorded the loop, the pedal that goes on next ,will effect the initial loop that was recorded in the RC1. The RC1 is coming directly out of Loop1 in the joyo. Loop2 is for the effect send/return line so don’t see why it’s doing that. Any help would be appreciated!!!

I'm no expert and haven't tried a looper in the setup at all. So you have the second loop, the second of four loops into the FX loop of the amp? If so like you say, I don't understand why as they should be separated from the first signal path I'd have thought. But again, I'm no expert, just a user of the unit like yourself

Yes, unfortunately its either all 8 to the front on amp or split 4/4. The only other way would be use this for the front of the amp and have your two fx loop pedals completely separate.

I'm having a hard time getting my Joyo D-Seed channel switching to react correctly to trigger sends. I've tried every combo of polarity and momentary that i can think of and it does weird things. For example, let's say I have one preset sending trigger to T1 for the D-seed.... if I have another preset sending T2 to something else, D-seed still switches channels?? and no, that 2nd preset has T1 doing nothing. I cannot figure this out.

Larry Baldwin that does sound like a messed up situation. Have you tried putting it way down in trigger 4? I know my amp channel switch took a little bit of messing about to get working. Have you tried the d-seed in both presets whilst programming the trigger?

@marcusdluxe 7 жыл бұрын
WhiteLionParade hi, I made my own patch using neutirk heads & vandamme cable- I use the cheaper neutriks, "reaml(?), and as you can hopefully hear they're not noisy. That way you can make them the correct lengths. Be careful also as I don't think there's room for the pancake type jack as on the joyo they're very close together. And yes- you can add whatever you like before or after the joyo- so as with your question on the other video, something like a compressor, volume pedal, wah would work there.

Hey, thanks for this video, very helpful! Im wondering if you may be able to help with something. I've just got mine setup and switched on after a long while of soldering patch cables. Any help is much appreciated!
@marcusdluxe
@marcusdluxe 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, glad the video was of some use. Some fuzzes don't like being in things like loopers, especially like the joyo which is buffers. So, it's either a patch lead, I've suffered the same, spent ages setting stuff up then a fail. So, either a patch lead or it doesn't like the buffers in the switcher. Try firstly different patch leads. Even if you swap from a different loop. If its still the same try the Fuzz before the the switchers input to rule out the buffer. If it's the buffer, company's like Tate fx will sell a "pickup emulator" kind of thing that makes the Fuzz think its guitar straight into pedal. Hope that makes sense. Feel free to ask any questions and let me know how you get on.

@marcusdluxe
@marcusdluxe 4 жыл бұрын
Potentially, if the pedal has an auxiliary control to do so. Or if its midi joyo/harley benton do a version with midi. I'm not sure it you'd be able to do it via an expression pedal out? Expression pedals are usually able to one control on a pedal and the sweep of the pedal adjust the turn of that control. So potentially you could have it but of course there's no sweep- so clicking the switch would go from a_b.

I know this is 6 years old already but wiring up my pxl pro and just wondering about pedal order. I’ve placed my distortions and such to the right in loop 1-4. Then my modulations on the next loop 1-4 to the left. Running it all into a clean fender amp. Not sure if I’ve done this right.
@marcusdluxe
@marcusdluxe Жыл бұрын
If you're not using an effects loop in your amp those two blocks of 4 are really one big block of 8 so you can place where you want. The two blocks of 4 is only relevant when using an effect loop as that second block goes there so you'd only use fx that work in an effect loop - delay, verb, trem and some modulation.

Hi good sir! Forgive me for asking on such an old video, but I've not been able to find an answer to my question yet. If you had two amps and wanted to run your El Cap in stereo, could you run the left channel into a slot on loop one and your right channel into a slot on loop 2 and accomplish this? You'd basically be running loop 2 to a second amp instead of the effects loop. I do realize one pedal would take up two loops, but I think I could make that work. None of my pedals are midi capable, so if there are any work-arounds there it wouldn't benefit me. Thanks!!

My question is pretty straight forward. The Joyo PXL Pro has this very interesting 2nd loop that is meant to go in to the FX loop of an amp. Can I exploit this function to run 2 parallel signals? Here's what I'm arriving at - Pedal Loops 1-4 and Pedal Loops 5-8 run parallel to each other much like the A+B Mix mode on the Boss LS-2 if I connect the Loop 2-out and Loop 2-in with a patch cable and, when I don't have a patch cable going from Loop 2-out into Loop 2-in, all the pedals are in series like the A>B mode on the Boss LS-2. Please correct me if I'm wrong? If I'm right about this, the Joyo is what I'll get. If not, the LS-2 will find its way on my pedal board. What I want to achieve is simple. My dry tone running parallel with effect tone out of one output just like the LS-2. Say Pedal Loops 1-4 have my drives and Pedal Loops 5-8 have my delays and reverbs. I activate one loop from Pedal Loops 1-4 with the actual pedal being on and I activate one loop from Pedal Loops 5-8 with the actual pedal turned off. One patch cable is going from Loop 2-out to Loop 2-in. Will I get what I'm looking for?

Basically, if you use input 1 & 2, you have turned the switcher into 2 switchers with four loops each. Once you plug into input 2 you will need to use both outputs to get access to the full changes. The high and low sections are synchronized, meaning if you change the bank or number, then all of the loops will shift. Of course you would not have to have any of them on. You can select to only have things on the high section activated and the low section can be left off or visa versa. Or you can run any mixture combination of the two sections. I am using this Joyo Looper to run two sets of pedals into two amps. The pedals are setup and voiced for the amps. I ramp the tone up through steps from clean to distorted over several increments. The way I have it set, one amp is emphasized on the first bank, then the other on the next bank, then on the third bank both amps start at a clean tone and then add a little dirt, then a bit more and then distortion/overdrive. It works great and is more than I could ask for.

In theory as many as you like I suppose. There's 8 loops which you can have all in to front of amp or 50 50 them front and fx loop. But each of those loops could contain multiple pedals as the unit turns of and on the loops not the pedals within those loops

@marcusdluxe
@marcusdluxe 7 жыл бұрын
Hi, you'll be pleased to hear the answer is yes! You can switch amp channel as long as your amp uses a standard jack plug. I have over videos on my board that will show this. If your amp has a pedal that switches Reverb & overdrive then that may use a stereo jack into the amp- this is still doable you'd just have to use a stereo jack into the footswitch input of your amp & then spit it in to two mono jacks at the joyo and use two of the four trigger outs. Feel free to ask anything else &/or check out other videos. Thanks
@JRandallS
@JRandallS 5 жыл бұрын
Some Fender amps use a mono type 1/4" plug to control several foot switch functions. They do this by setting up various resistors at each switch in the foot switch and then reading the change in the amp. So, to get that to function as several foot-switches you would have to build a box that would close the circuit in the same way as the Fender foot switch does, (i.e.using resistors of the right value for each 1/4" jack connection) and then running the triggers to that box for translation into the connection that runs to the amp.

@marcusdluxe 7 ай бұрын
@@internalmethods I think it all comes down to trial and error. Obviously there's nothing stopping you having 20 pedals in one loop and still switching those pedals on and off like 8 independent pedalboards. Two things with that though.... 1) noise, I use the switcher to remove a lot of noise by obviously having loops deactivated. 2) pedal order, a lotta fuzzes etc like being first and especially don't like boss style buffers. So with multiple fuzzes you need to know what goes where....but with that many pedals on a board you obviously know this.

Can you tell me about the Latch and Mom mode? What's the difference?
@marcusdluxe
@marcusdluxe 5 жыл бұрын
Latch and momentary are the two main type of switching that amps/auxiliary functions use to swap a channel etc. Latch is like flicking a switch, it stays in that position. Of course on a footswitch the switch returns but the signal is continuously saying on or off until you switch again. Momentary is like beeping a horn. You hit the horn, it beeps and the stops. So momentary is like that, some amps just need a polite "on" or "off" to switch. Makes no difference, there's no good or bad. Just some amps use one, some the other. Most basic footswitch channel switching amps will be latch though. Thanks for watching

@JRandallS 5 жыл бұрын
There are two ways basically. 1) build a box that does what your pedal control does internally. However instead of on/off switches for you to step on, you install 1/4" female jacks, then connect those jacks to the Joyo with 1/4" cables. Basically the Joyo steps on the switches for you. 2) modify your existing footswitch, or get another one and modify it. Pull out the switches and replace them with 1/4" female jacks. Connect to the Joyo with 1/4" cables. You should get a schematic and ask someone who understands schematics to advise if replacing the switches with 1/4" jacks will work. Some pedals might have a double switch in place, which would need some kind of relay to make it work. The Fender amps use zener diodes and other components in their foot-switches, to change the voltage in the cable to tell the amp to turn things off and on. This is a good method in that it allows a simple guitar cable to carry messages for several switches, but it is a bad method if you want to try and directly control a lot of the Fender amps with an on / off switch. It won't work. I am not familiar with Marshall switching, but if it is a multi-pin switch, then it might actually be carrying multiple on / off switches, which is easier to convert to something that the Joyo could control. Someone should start a business building translator boxes for these amp switch controllers to talk to these Joyo and similar switches.

Just ordered one of these. .... I have a question. Can you use the two outputs to feed two amps? Does the pedal board send the guitar to the start of each loop separately? I mean if I just plug the guitar into the "IN" on the far right side of the board, will it feed both loops as long as the output jacks for each loop have a 1/4" cable inserted?

I'm not a 100% sure but I't sounds conceivable. Have a tinker when you get it and let me know. The only thing I can thing it that the second loops has a send and return...but you wouldn't want the signal returned I suppose. Haha, I'm not sure.

I use with 2 amps. I use the lower bank for dry effects and the upper bank for wet effects - the split between loops 1 and 2 allows this. You can also run from tuner out to a 3rd amp if you like with no fx! Careful with ground loops and phase
@JRandallS
@JRandallS 5 жыл бұрын
Okay I've ran it several ways now. I am using 3 amps. Two blues jr., one is Billm modified with a Cannibis Rex, and the other is stock with a Greenback. The third amp is a Super Champ X2 with a Greenback in it. 1) Using input 1 for guitar and output 2 to the rotochoir, which creates a stereo channel then into delay and reverb. From there splitting into 2 Blues Juniors. Both amps got the same drive and eq pedals etc., but the roto, delay and reverb were in stereo. Nice thick tone. There were pedals on the two banks that were switchable etc. I also took the output of the tuner to a Super Champ X2 dry. 2) Guitar to ABY switch to input 1 & 2. Running the banks separately but tuned up for the voice of each amp. Took the roto choir out of the equation and run output 1 & 2 into the delay and reverb then to the 2 Blues Jrs. Super Champ is still coming out of the tuner dry. This tone is hands down the most amazing thing that I have played through. It inspires me to imagine better melodic leads etc. I should mention that in both setups I am also going through a Stereo Ditto Looper, which lets me have some fun. Should say I have not had any problems with the Joyo Switcher, but I'm fighting ground loop problems with the Blues Juniors. But that is another story.

I split the path with a mimiq doubler after the first bank - take dry to a pair of dry valve amps (using radial tone bones twin city for phase and isolation) then the wet signal goes from my stereo fx into a pair of wet amps (use more isolation ) - wddw - much fun - only downside is absence of stereo loops but I keep stereo delay and verb outside the switcher

Hello!! Thank you very much for this amazing video! I’d like to ask you: is it possible to split the signal into parallel ones like you can do on a boss es-8? I’ve search a lot about this and I am not sure about it. My goal is to have two different signals, one affected with a bigmuff and the second one, a fuZz factory. If I put them into a single chain it sound awful, but if I split it, it may sound amazing. Can you do this with this controller?? Thank you so much!!

Really nice video mate! Just got mine and have it all set up and it’s awesome, but I’m afraid mine is defective because it doesn’t mute the output when I hit MUTE twice (once to go to tuner out, which it does) and two to mute loop 1 and loop 2 out. The red light comes on after I hit the mute switch (not in edit mode) so it seems like it should mute the signal but I can still hear everything. If the mute function doesn’t work on mine is it possible that mine is defective? I love Joyo and have never had any issues with any of their pedals. They’re a great company, I’m just worried that my PXL Pro is defective. Wondering if I should exchange it. Thanks for making this video by the way.

lynyrddeville to an extent you can in program mode but not as easy as you have to jump up and down through the edit hi/lo banks. The other option is to have a program a patch where all the pedals are on and use the pedals as normal on that one patch. I do this to an extent on a couple of patches- leaving the reverb and tremolo loops on (newer pedalboard layout than this) and just switch them on as and when.

Can you turn a pedal on and off on a set preset? For example if i made a preset for a lead boost and wanted to engage a wah and turn it off when i please could i do so or would i need a separate preset with a wah on it?
@marcusdluxe
@marcusdluxe 6 жыл бұрын
Connor Bowles if I I'm right in understanding the yes. I for example have my fuzz and wah in loop one but the wah is off 90% of the time. As long as loop one is on in the patch I'm playing thru I can then turn off and on the wah as you would normally. The 8 loops are basically just that a loop of cable going through set pedals. If you're playing through an active loop and turn of a pedal in that loop that pedal will simply turn off.
