I like how easy they are to prepare, how good they taste, and how well they store. Because of this I have quite a few Brownie recipes. In the past I've always made Brownies using either semi sweet chocolate or unsweetened chocolate. So for this Brownie recipe I decided to replace the chocolate with unsweetened cocoa powder. The result is a really fine tasting Brownie. One that is cake-like with a deep chocolate flavor yet is wonderfully moist and chewy. They make a delicious snack, with or without a dusting of cocoa powder or powdered sugar. And I often like to serve them for dessert with fresh berries and maybe a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

It's been nearly fifteen years, and my kids, their friends, and relatives are all indebted to your recipes. Has anyone told you that you are the most accurate and reliable person for baking advice on the internet? Your work is legendary and you are building such a great legacy.

Thank you for the easy recipe. Lost my Mom's recipe from the 70's only used cocoa powder. Amazing how extravagant brownies have become one used three sticks of butter with two bakers chocolate bar, another 100 hour brownie, and another with brown butter. Thank you for the simple recipe.

Admittedly, I haven’t been following this channel too closely. I baked an excellent brioche using your recipe and method years ago. What I admire is the sheer consistency she has. Love from India, I love baking, but i had zero knowledge in baking mam, for a long time i wanted to write this, my kid love cakes, brownies and all but i dont know anything about them, I try your recipes and it comes out good, for the past 2 years i bake and it gives me immense happiness when my kid enjoys it. The best brownie recipe ever. My son, a chocoholic, and my guests yesterday, simply loved it! I tried the recipe with zero substitutions . Using Dutch processed cocoa makes a huge difference to the flavor and appearance. Worthwhile, absolutely. Thanks Stephanie. I can't thank you enough for being my best baking teacher.

One can always trust your recipes to work out the expected way. Sometimes stumble upon recipes with rather unexpected results (like the mashmallows I tried today that ended up as sticky sauce)

Have made this recipe many times. I have tinker with it a little bit. I add an extra tablespoon of flour and 1/2 Teaspoon of baking powder. I like my brownies a little cakey and this does the trick.
