Says he won't comment on big bank's CEOs' pay, then dismisses it, calling it 'populist rhetoric'... next thing, the host asks if he will run for office! America is like a parallel universe

+Shermhugh D thx Satoshi that give us the opportunity to run a financial system without a middleman like Dimon. The era of the Bank Cartel is over.

It's one of the great multi faceted tests if our time. In one way it's a test of our freedom, whether or not the institutional banks and financial industry or the socially conservative political fear machine can shut bitcoin down, whether our basic freedom to do something perfectly legal and ethical like transfer value between two people without an intermediary, if we are fundamentally free or whether we are owned by the system. It's also a bit of a Rorsarch test, everyone who looks at it really sees a reflection of themselves, it's open and anonymous like Nietzche's void. Some people look in and see a place for people to hide themselves and their crimes, others look in and see a new world and hope, some people look and and simply marvel at the wonderful complexity of it and others still look in and see nothing much at all. When a book and a head collide and it makes a hollow sound, is it always the book that's empty? Bitcoin has finally impacted the banking community and the the fact that all they can see (or all they chose to see, or publicly acknowledge that they see) is a slightly new ledger system. How empty is that assessment? I'm not even a bitcoin true believer, it's not the answer to all the world's ills, but it's a lot more than anyone at an event like this would admit to.

+phrenzy1 I don't see Bitcoin as a 'test' as much as I see it as a 'mutation'. There is no test. The dominoes have been set in motion. All that's left is to witness how fast they fall. It started with the internet which changed the way in which we communicate and it will continue with Bitcoin (or some other 'cryptocurrency') which will change the way the world exchanges value. We are moving from a centralized top-down structured society to a distributed individualistic one. Governments may be able to slow this transformation but I don't believe they can stop it entirely. I see it as an evolutionary process.

Bitcoin isn’t really innovation though. It’s like saying gold as a currency is innovative. A currency, by nature, doesn’t really add much value, but it helps measure value. Ps. I hope you guys invested in bitcoin 5 years ago...

That's why manufacturing is so important. Because of liquidity. Expection is important, it can decide profit. OK, I understand, risk neutral is nonsense.

Our personal information is transparent and it comes as no surprise to most people. It's become an issue that most have just accepted instead of resist. The terms of agreement that most agree to and don't read the small print now are victim to having markets seeing information about them. Banks should be frightened that they have the power to release our personal information. Currently we are allowing it to happen. How many of us are aware of how much of our own information is out there? How much regulation is going on to protect our privacy compared to favoring markets etc who can benefit from it? When he said that there will never be a currency that isn't government controlled is something we should all be thinking about too. We, the people, are the government and need to remember the power we have to change the world. The first step to fighting back is talking about it!

Jamie knows banking, but he doesn’t know education. He’s no expert. Being a former educator I can run circles around Dimon when it comes to recommendations to improving the education system- and it doesn’t involve more money.

He totally lied about Bitcoin. It's completely conversely. Mostly in the history of humanity has used currency, which has not been issued and controlled by the government ( shells, feathers, gold, silver etc. ). Even now you can use gold as a currency worldwide. The dollar was only token to the gold until end 1971 . On the contrary, always, I repeat always a currency that was issued and controlled by the state went bankrupt. You can see examples around the world and the US Dollar will be no exception.

"Let me tell you what hasn't changed: The consumer walks into a bank, opens a deposit account, gets a credit card..." Love to break it to you Jamie, this has changed around the world with challenger banks allowing consumers to do all those things and more from their mobile phones . Out of touch a bit are we?
