I noticed the same thing for a lot of characters. Aside from ageing, I believe that's mainly because most of the time, in the anime, they spoke with a lower voice (botch pitch and volume-wise). Here in Duel Links, on the other hand, they only "shout" their ace card names and iconic lines. E.g. Saiō was a soft-spoken character, so hearing him frenzied out all the time like during his last duel... sounds quite strange.
