Ready to explore an Abandoned Farmhouse that has EVERYTHING left behind?
In this video we explore a house that I found as a Roadside Find. Not knowing much about it, I decided to explore the property and ended up learning much more than I ever imagined. So come along with me as we see what is left of this Abandoned Farmhouse. Enjoy

After watching this back a few times, I am lead to believe that he started collecting/repairing electronics, esp tv's. Once he retired and had to care for his wife, this new hobby probably made him feel he had a purpose and kept him focused.

As soon as my husband and I saw the dining room table and chairs we gasped! We have the exact same set! We also have the China cabinet and a buffet that matches. I thought I saw a glimpse of a buffet in another room. Bet it is part of that set. Ours belonged to my husbands parents. Bought in 1931. I have the bill of sale somewhere. Will have to look for it. Great video as usual , but these abandoned homes make me sad. Always think about the people who lived in and loved these homes. Thank you for always being respectful of the places you explore.

My grandparents had almost the same dining room set. It gave me a warm feeling to see it. It brought me back in time. I also thought the buffet was in the bedroom. I can still remember all the happy times I had sitting at the table eating holiday dinners. Just like it was yesterday. Oh how I miss my parents and grandparents. They were married in 1934.

@@JPVideos81 I've watched your videos before but never have I got such an unsettling feeling. This house wasn't a happy home. The male occupant definitely repaired televisions. The wife passed away first. The husband died last. Something definitely looks over that property. Please find out more about the property (if possible). The feeling is completely unsettling- illness.

My late husband owned a successful tv repairman for about 25 years before he passed. If I had allowed it, my house would have been piled high with tv’s and radios, plus other electronic items he was interested in 😊. He had quite a few of those huge antique radios, many still worked. It is amazing how many people would pay big for one of those in working condition. Thankfully, we owned a store and he was able to keep old units for parts and pieces. After they had been stripped of useful parts he would definitely dispose of them. But, we still had a lot of them left after he died and I had to take care of disposing or selling them, plus closing the business and store. This was probably a side job for this man, allowing him to stay home and care for his wife. It is something my husband would have done for me. This brought back some pretty good feelings for me. Comforting.

This is an amazing find, I think it’s sad and a shame the son left his history and his parents to rot like that. I realize not everyone is sentimental, but at least clean it out. Whether you toss it in the trash or sell it, it should have meant something to you. That was an amazingly made house that may have made somebody a great home. Jmo

You are SO good at these. You go slow but not so slow that it's boring and you cover everything. Your assumptions of items are either accurate or close enough and you always give little educational add ins. Love it. The record player with the fold out drawers and the multiple heaters were so neat. The "dog" was scary. Large possum makes more sense but at 1st glance looked like a dog!

I want to say 28 TVs and 3 radio/record players and 1 typewriter and beautiful hutch...so many items caught my eyes how beautiful that place was then and still could be today too

The radio-phonograph console at 14:11 is a Zenith. If you look closely at the tone arm of the player, you'll see it has a head that comes to a sort of point above the needle---and _eyes_ because it's called a "Cobra" tone arm. The console we got in the early 1940's (and still stood in the hallway when Dad sold the house after mom passed in 1976) was similar. I later replaced the changer (played a stack of 78 rpm records) with a modern high fidelity changer that would play 78, 45, and 33-1/3 rpm records in the late '50's. The radio/amplifier was AM/FM, so it had pretty good audio range and the speaker was about fourteen inches, so the new "LP's" she bought sounded quite good. We always had music at out house, particularly at Christmastime. We weren't rich, but Mom and Dad got hitched in 1930, at the start of the Great Depression and they really knew how to handle their money. My two brothers and I had a fantastic childhood, leaving us with a lot of wonderful memories. Stay safe, everybody.

cool. love old stuff like that. i like the old chevy. my grandmas house built in the early 1900's collonel had a big cellar with a coal converted furnace. it was huge. looked like a monster. had a glass heart you could look in and see the flame in there. my great grandfather built it before she bought it. i grew up in it. love old stuff like this ! great video!!

How sad that the son deserted his parents that way 😢😞 his parents worked hard...I know they did because my parents were married in 1947 and dad worked for Delta and mom was a homemaker. It breaks my heart ❤💔 to think their son just walked away and left them 💔😢 A wonderful but sad explore and interesting that you were able to discover what the husband did for a living 🥰 Thank you for another wonderful video 👍👍😍😍

Yes JP, this one was out of the park!!! So many items in the house took me back in time to my grandparents houses. I was little in the 60's and 70's. I think "we" pieced the puzzle together quite well. I could tell as soon as you went into the pink master bedroom, with the wheelchair, what had happened. You totally nailed it. She was bedridden in that room. If you noticed, that room was much neater than the others. I felt like it was left as a shrine to the woman. Some of her clothing was even in the drawers. I definitely had an unsettled feeling when you were in that room. I can still feel it as I'm typing this. Looking at the calendar dates, the last being 1981 was when he died, or so I think. Yes, I also felt like he died from a broken heart. One of the calendars was from the 70's. I wonder if that was the year she died. It was nice to get confirmation that what we were thinking was right on target. So sad for the husband. Even more sad was that the son left everything as it was. So many beautiful vintage items were left behind.

That 7up bottle is from 1958 and is worth up to $200 depending on it's condition. Great find!

Many of the items in the house are from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. He obviously had a hobby fixing the old TVs. Very interesting find.

I love seeing old abandoned places and as I watched I became more and more sad and had a dread of doom coming, when you reached the last room I was in tears as I knew something very heartbreaking happened there. When I read the info on the place I knew my tears were well placed. Thank-you for taking us along on another awesome video. Also I was born in 1954 and seeing those old 7-up bottles took me back to the days when we would gather up bottles and return them for money and buy penny candy with the money we earned. lol

Yes, small beer bottles were worth a penny, big ones a nickel. I think soda bottles were 3 cents. A beach party was a real find, as there were lots of bottles! Yes, used to buy penny candy. I was born in 1950.

The wooden handle leaned against the chevy looks like it's for a scythe, the tractor...maybe a snow blower, some of the furniture is crazy sweet! I counted 26 TVs! Awesome video thanks for sharing JP!

I agree JP, I counted 23 TV's, that's a lot. It's a sad story. Thank you for taking us along with you because I really enjoy going back in time like that and seeing how someone lived their lives. Oh my! How I would love to save all those antiques! The record players, radios, some of the TV's, the furniture .... it hurts to see them rotting away. So much can still be saved. The tractor looks to be a conversion built from a walk behind model. Engine is a Briggs & Stratton A or B, later production due to aluminum head.

1981 you are a kid, good for you. I was born in 1949. love that old stove brings back memories in my day. dinning room table and chairs can be reused that is an antique. those pop bottles are worth money also. what a waste. the record player can be refurbished and get it back to working condition as that is an antique also. I think with all the TVs is when one breakes down they just get another. I think the man was taking care of his wife. His wife was confinded to that bedrooom. I can't believe there was no help for the couple. JP those thoughts you gave I believe.

What an amazing find....its a treasure trove of electronic history! I hope that a museum or something like that can get those pieces to fix and show...also that dining room set was beautiful wood craftsmanship! The dining room record player is really awesome, i have one similar in our house but it doesn't pull out the same way...ours is early 70s or late 60s i believe! I counted 23 or 24 TVs ....that is just truly an incredible find! It must have been really exciting to go thru it!

I really saw you putting all of the puzzle pieces together especially when you put together the advertising on the truck with the clues inside the house to conclude the owner's line of work. Also feasible was the theory about the wife. Very good JP. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 😁👍

Epic find, Jay. I was too engrossed in watching to count TV's accurately but got to 20. Loved the antique radios. The kitchen dinette set was just like what we had when I was a kid. They were popular in the 50's. You put it all together so well. This raises the bar for abandoned explores!

Cool video. I love the kitchen table & chairs. Great that you found out about the owners. There's some houses my family lived in that nothing was done with them after they died. They have been left to rot away. Some still has stuff in them. One is a house my grandparents lived in on my cousins' farm. We cleaned out the house but left some furniture and other things my cousins said they wanted. They talked about renting it out but they have piled stuff in it and it is rotting away. Have many happy memories there and it makes me cry whenever I see it. Love when you do these videos on old houses. I see so many things I am familiar with.

I saw so much that I loved about this place. The stove in the kitchen, ringer washer, typewriter, furniture, truck, etc. My dad used to have a couple of those 7up bottles. I wish now that I had kept them

JP what a splendid find. There were 19 TVS in that house and think a man lived there, perhaps wife that he took care off and it was to much and left everything go to heck. I feel sorry for the couple, you would think someone would come in and help. That looks like a real old Ford Tractor, because we had one the frame is gone. With steel siding on the house that house can be fixed up. This is sad to have tthis property go to hell. The pop bottles you should of taken as they are valuable, just turn your camera off.. There is so much in that house that can be used or refinished and be a rememberance. I am an antique person, I would have you van packed. This was a superfind JP and I love these places. Wow, you find the greatest things when you're not even looking. Loved the stone walls and log support beams in the basement. I guess you we're right about the man taking care of his ailing wife. It's always sooooooo cool when you hear their really story. I counted 24 TV's.

Really interesting, undisturbed time capsule.....the history was added bonus....you found a rare hidden gem.....one can imagine the guy parked his truck for the last time in that spot 40 years ago....good job!

Think 22 TV's? Maybe he dabbled in repair? You were right on with your thoughts of a man caring for his wife. When you panned over the window in kitchen there was a cherry, orange, & grapes pieces hanging. My grandpa built my Sis & I brick playhouse. Grandma hung those on wall for us. Great memory!! Loved this house & in love with that old truck. Longer furniture you thought dresser was buffet. Think there were a couple in house. Dining table was beautiful & loved kitchen table. So much to see & talk about. Epic! Amazing! find Jay!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it! 🏡 🥰

Jay, Thanks for the info., it really makes a difference and you were very close to the facts i your guesses. I watch videos of abandoned placed in England, Belgium etc... Giant mansions ,all kinds of valuables left to decay because of legal or family disputes.So much of that could have been repurposed. At least the son did come and take things, I didn't see ant pictures or nostalgia items and it doesn't look to vandalized. Fascinating video. My parents are from south east IA and we see abandoned farm houses all over. I’m always wondering about the history of those places. I’m glad you were able to get the history on this place.
