I just picked up one of this on 45acp. I heard so many issues on 45acp from the first run,but I prefer bigger caliber. STAG ARMS had a new PCC but never seen any on canadian gun dealers I'm interested on that one aswell. Good video you give me an idea to takedown my new baby..

I bought a JR carbine about a year ago. Absolutely love it. In the process of swapping the ejection handle to the other side. Thats why I'm here. Great video by the way. Have to say that JR could have done a few things differently....like a common barrel nut and foregrip for easy interchangeability. But other than that , this is an awesome little gun. Thanks for the video. Why they put bolt handle on left sude....I do not know😄

Did you ever get around to changing the side in which the charging handle operates? Was it easy and does it/do you have to change the side the cartridges eject as well?

@JohnDoe-es2ux Yes I did. Not as complicated as I thought it was going to be. Unscrewed the handle....swap the plate to the other side....and screwed the handle back in the right side. Easy peasy....

Had the JR carbine a while back. They are pretty hefty compared to an AR. The Allen wrench requirement for takedown was a PITA. Always worried about stripping it. The FX9 and Ruger PCC are great alternative options.

Do you know what size the Allen head was to get the pull back handle out?

Had my carbine out to the range for a few rounds. Just tried to take it apart and my allen was bending by the force I had to us. The bolts seem to be seated extra firm from the manufacturer. Any advice loosening them up without stripping them?

Yep. I changed the grip on mine and noticed they use loc-tite on the screw. Had to cut it off and get to screw with pliers.

Ok, great and informative.. Best video on this piece I've seen yet, as I found the manual to be lacking in terms of taking it apart. I've never owned a semi till now. Give me a pump shotgun or a bolt action rifle and I dont even need the manual. But I gotta admit, this was intimidating for the price to not screw it up and have to take it apart every 200 shots for cleaning.. I have nightmares of when I'm 12 taking apart my BB gun and not being able to get it back together.. I wish I could have seen how you do the castle nut tightening and loosening.. Do I need to bu ya special castle nut wrench for that? And if so, what size do I look for? Thanks buddy..

Yep, it's a standard AR castle nut size, so any AR15 wrench will do the job. You can get them online or at many gun shops.

@@Huntinggearguy Ordered mine today. So I stopped by the local gun shop here asking if I could buy one. They didnt have any for sale but had one in their tool desk and actually sent me home with it to use and bring back whenever. So I loosened the castle nut just enough to finger tighten till mine arrives. I guess they treat you well when you buy 2 grand worth of toys within a week.. The JR, a red dot and a vertical downward fore grip..

Interested in a PC carbine , FX9 /JR or Ruger for plinking, all around the same price , leaning towards the FX9 , any recommendations

Ruger's got fantastic build quality, but accuracy was just kinda meh. FX is go-fast on controls, but my buddy has had out of battery detonations with his so I'm a bit wary of those. Take a look at the Thureon's as well.

What size Allen takes off the pull back handle? I tried my 1/8 and it’s a hair to small

Hmm I don’t recall. I peeked at the JRC website and this is what the owners guide states: • 9/64-inch hex (Allen) wrench - included • 1/8-inch hex (Allen) wrench - included • 1/16-inch hex (Allen) wrench - included It’s possible that the Allen wrench you are using is heavily worn so the fit is loose. The head of the hex screw may also be slightly stripped.

@@Huntinggearguyawesome thanks man! I have 2 of these jrcs one is the smaller 6.5 barrel so it’s a small gun so I’m looking for something smaller for it to keep it smaller. Right now I have my vortex strike fire on it but it’s kinda big on it

Yes. But be careful. Mine was put in with loc-tite. Had to cut the handle to get pliers on the screw.

... No thank you. I've got a Thureon carbine, which is also legal in Canada. Takes down just like an AR-15. Solid and reliable.
