This was really helpful. I’ve been stuck on tutorial hell myself and slowly distanced myself from it. I however see it differently. I learn a lot more from seeing project based toturial than a boring editor where they explain the basic syntax. I’ve gained my more confidence by building and looking up stuff on my own thanks to you man! You are a life saver seriously

Thank You!! I am that guy whos is scrambling through tutorials. Learning tech, and the tech world in general can make one feel inadequate. Because there is so much to learn. I enjoyed the advice learn one facet and learn it well. I would appreciate your advice on how to show future employers what you know(github, etc??)

I feel that! Github is great. A well thought out portfolio website would be best. In my opinion, I don't think many employers put much time into looking deep into your github OR a portfolio website. They may have 200 applications so they simply don't have the time. Just make it look clean and optimize titles - hopefully try to make it catchy above the pagefold to capture their attention and stand out.

In my experience yes, absolutely. In fact, the last place I worked never even asked about any type of certification or schooling. Never came up during the entire interview process. They were only worried about experience.

I still buy udemy courses when I want to learn a new skill! I don't think it's a bad way to learn. I just don't purchase multiple courses in the same language. Its a great way to pickup a new language or skill for $20 or so!
