I also would like to know more about the belt grinder! I really like the idea of the drive wheel being the same size as the cage tubing.

sooo can any welder make a roll cage or do you have to go to one that knows what there doing with cars ?
@Mr.Saephan5035 жыл бұрын
Busy H - each cut and connection of a roll age is a life or death part. You need to know how impact energy effect the roll cage. You can't just cut and put it anywhere to fit,it need to be place on a certain spot cause of impact energy. You want the energy to flow threw the cage. That's why different car event require different style cages. Most car event will have roll cage plan for you to use but need to fit near to perfect. A 1/32 inch off would be the max you can be off depend on car event. Anyone can weld it but if it don't pass tech then you would need to redo the whole thing. As long as the person have the right tubes,can bend,cut to spec and weld it then it would be fine.

Nicely done project. I hope to order an everlast plasma cutter this summer. Doing a project like this is a lot more difficult without a plasma cutter.

Hee man nice work. Only thing i want to see is that you try to make the weld as long as possible . Dont make those spotwelds. Thats weaker. Invest on your welding machine. Look for the Fronius tps/i . Cost a Fortuyn butt it will give you your money back in no time

Why are you using pipe and a pipe bender?
@greenriver5204 жыл бұрын
There's one thing worse than someone not wearing eye protection when plasma cutting, grinding and tac welding. That's someone who is blind, trying to use a plasma cutter, a grinder and tac weld. Safety specs are available for a reason. Wear them and really look cool man. Good work otherwise.

OSHA violation left and right. Aside from that nice work
@jsv1258 жыл бұрын
just an fyi to anyone thinking about making one. the welding in this video is pathetic and this cage would likely not pass a cert. this cage also would probably not do much for the occupants in the case of a wreck.
@66Tinchoo998 жыл бұрын
why?
@timothychaichana36217 жыл бұрын
The bar is hollow and welding does not reinforce the joints. While it may not break or crack when exposed under the sun or hot temperatures, it won't be able to withstand the impact from an accident. Basically this roll cage is only there for aesthetics or to provide very very minimal protection for the driver.
@wolfgang95857 жыл бұрын
are/were you an artist? you are very good , learn to weld and you're an ace :)

@PMMEDIAofficial8 жыл бұрын
+Paul Damian Dont be affraid, he is using welding safety glasses during welding only when scoring isn't necessary. ;)
@pauldamian29888 жыл бұрын
+Abarth Marinec Sorry, but it's not very smart to be grinding and cutting without SAFETY GLASSES. One spark, one hot chip and you could loose an eye. I've done the same thing he's doing when tacking things in, simply close you're eyes; put the welding helmet on when you go to finish the welds. BUT I ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES IN THE SHOP! NO MATTER WHAT! ALL THE TIME.

We will do as you say Sorry

welding technique is poor, the gaps between the pulse style of welding is too large creating weaknesses between the welds. the work is consistent just consistently poor. fab work looks good though which is a shame the welding isn't as high quality.
