1) you’re way better at articulation than you give yourself credit for bud. I’ve always appreciated your genuine approach. That said, I’m happy for you in this freedom of process you’re inheriting. I def am intimidated by your knowledge and use of top notch equipment so this feels like a breath of fresh air. Brian B is also a minimalist in his art and floors me when we talk by how free he is with his work but complex it feels. 2) Thanks for always being 100 with us. it really takes a genuine person to contradict much of their previous stance in a public way like this.

My equipment isn't much more top-notch than the average joe, TBH. But it is still restrictive. I have definitely made some significant purchases but not sure how long I will hang onto those now!

I always struggle with my instagram feed-part of me thinks I should only post my best work in the field of architecture photography, but I also find if I don’t give myself the freedom to post whatever interests me, I just don’t do it at all.

I'm rarely posting to Instagram anymore. I don't get a lot of work from it, tbh. I am still posting my best work to the grid when possible and posting BTS reels. I can show my personality through stories.

This is great to hear! Sometimes it’s nice to know to take it easy on ourselves. Looking forward to the interview with Simon! (He certainly is the meme king lol)

This is great Jordan! Balancing professionalism and being an artist with freedom while shooting will be liberating! Exciting to see this new chapter unfold for you!

Thanks! I'd say it's an evolution rather than a new chapter. I'm still me, just a "less-concerned" me.

Hi Jordon, thanks for this vid. I agree that we can overthink and over process ideas to our detriment at times. I wonder if you would elaborate on the types of restrictions that make things easier to work with? Thanks for all that you share with us.

Well, for example: If a client hires me for 15 photos... I am shooting 15 photos. I am usually not that flexible about it. I might shoot one or two extra, but once I've photographed 15 images I consider the job done (on location). Another "restriction" would be needing to do some elaborate setup and focus on that one shot when I could be handheld walking around exploring or just camera on tripod with no extra gear weighing me down.

Everyone tells you a "right way" of doing things but you're one of the few out here speaking from your heart and being vulnerable saying it's ok not to be perfect. It's very refreshing!

Love the videos! Keep them coming! I do have one question. You mentioned simplifying your pay structure, do you charge a licensing fee in addition to your fee and edit fee? Will that change as a result of trying to keep it simple?

It's kind of hard to explain, but the way I am positioning it in the sales process is that I am essentially charging a "flat fee" which has 4 components (Creative fee, Licensing, Post-Production, and Assistant Fee). I have these broken out as line items on the invoice. The fee will definitely change based on the scope of the work, but to the client it is very simple to understand.
