This guy speaking is just pure philosophy, I swear he’s the modern day Bruce Lee. Everything he said about the mentality and nervous system in an elite athlete was true. Nowadays it may be more common, but 12-16 years ago there weren’t many all rounded fighters that had legit wrestling paired with world class striking. He was way ahead of his time that’s why he was dominant for so many years in the sport. The guy was so technical and godly talented, he is a perfect example of naturally gifted + hard work, the perfect recipe. Hard work alone can never beat pure talent, and talent if slacking may lose to hard work. Gsp has both.

Just go to a god damned boxing gym and try throwing power shots at a bag for even 5 min, people don’t realise how tiring it is, and this guy was spamming nukes for 25 min straight. Every great person retains an aura of greatness throughout their life. That's why people talk about them in the first place. The best martial art legends were those who not only understood the code of honor and philosophy of martial arts but also put it to practice. You need to be a practitioner and a student for life. You need to be always humble and smart to be able to learn, or else how are you supposed to excel? A true martial artist is always competing with one's self. As a martial arts practitioner, I see GSP as an Idol. A respectful human being and an outstanding athlete who is always in a great form. This guy is the ultimate dream. The real G.O.A.T. And yet he is much of a martial artist that he doesn't even believe he is the greatest.

I totally agree on GSP opinion and observation based on my own personal experience. I took steroids for recreational use from 18-21 years old. I took them to develop muscle and in order to develop muscle, get physically stronger because I was a small skinny kid. I started training in MMA at 21 and over two years I stoped taking steroids because the bigger unnatural muscles made me tired quick (those muscles need oxygen!). I turned professional in MMA after two years of training and even though I was 'clean' so to speak I still felt the steroids and muscle memory gave me an unfair advantage because I was always much stronger physically than my opponent, I held a different kind of strength. Even to this day more than 15 years clean, I no longer fight yet if I do choose to lift weights then I develop muscle mass easily and quickly. Muscle memory is true, steroids do really offer a huge advantage both short term and long term.

You mean Anderson Silva... but nice try! Anderson was seen in his fights vs two BJJ black belts Maia and Leites, after the referee applied the Vaseline on his face, Silva entered the Octagon, the camera was on him and Silva is seen taking the Vaseline off his face and put it on his arms, shoulders and neck. He purposely did that himself.GSP's trainer had a brain fart, rubbed a teaspoon of Vaseline on GSP's face and then he started to rub him down, like he's ALWAYS done in his fights. The commission claims your statement to be BS, they reviewed the tapes and investigated that the little amount that may have been put on his shoulders did NOTHING, with regards to gaining an advantage. Therefore GSP did not cheat, but Anderson Silva did and every fan watching those two fights saw it. Go back and re-watch the entire event. FACT! Yet no one seems to say anything about Silva, and he did it purposely. Morons like you claim GSP cheated, when it wasn't even GSP, and the commission absolved him of any wrong doing.Maybe get your fact straight before pretending you know what you're talking about! Just like people "claim" GSP used PED's b/c f how he looks and how strong he was... that's called dedication and hard work. How many failed tests does he have before USADA and after?!? ZERO! Yeah he sure is a cheater.... BAHAHAHA GOAT - deal with it!
@THIS---GUY6 жыл бұрын
Both GSP and Spider greased once on camera. Have you ever grappled someone using vaseline? Put a "tablespoon" on your arms, shoulders and neck and tell me it doesn't make you fucking slick.
@THIS---GUY6 жыл бұрын
"I think he absolutely, positively knew that he was rubbing grease on him." White said on Friday during the UFC 95 weigh-ins. "I do. Nobody can tell me different. I watched the tape a million times." At no point did I accuse Georges of putting grease on himself. All I said was that he felt slick. I’ve wrestled over a thousand matches, fought 50 opponents, all I’ve ever done in life is wrestle and compete with other people. With all that experience, do you think I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between sweat and something else? Last week when I got to Florida, I was in the elevator with Robbie, I said “Robbie did you hear about GSP?” He said, “No, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I then said that BJ accused him of being slippery, Robbie looked right up at me and said, “That’s what you said after Anaheim.” Also, I’ve had several people close to me around my town who have come up to me and said the same thing. I’ve nothing against GSP, I even think he’s somewhat a likable guy. Some people are trying to say that I’m making this personal and that’s just not true at all. The reason I didn’t bring this up before was because I didn’t know there was anything to him being slick. With all the other guys coming out and saying the same thing, I just wanted to be true to myself, and to everybody else, and say that there could be some validity there. - Matt Hughes "This is such a weird topic," Serra said of the greasing. "B.J. Penn has legs to stand on in that case because the athletic commission caught him. You can think somebody's stealing from the cookie jar, but if you don't catch him you don't catch him. They caught him there. They caught him red-handed. The guy was doing it, whether it was breathing techniques or whatever. I like both guys, fought both guys, lost to both guys. My personal feelings are that it doesn't matter if the Vaseline was applied by accident because it is still just as illegal. If I were Kizer, I would have to either rule the fight a no contest or reverse the decision in favor of Penn. It's not a matter of being intentional or unintentional-it's about the integrity of the competition. Whether it had an impact on the final result is debatable-what isn't debatable is that the Vaseline was applied illegally.
