I would be more interested in seeing IAT datalogs with that intake in a real world scenario. It's one thing to do tests with the hood open, and another when the engine bay is closed off and there is nowhere for the heat to go. I can't see that intake doing a whole lot considering it doesn't seal anywhere and it doesn't channel air from anywhere either. It's an open box with no snorkel.

Did you compare an open air intake with the hood up? Do you really think those steel plates “seal” the intake from getting hot air…. Because it doesn’t lol. Anyway, good video other than that (it caught me off guard because you guys know what you’re doing). I look forward to more content!

The Gents @ Nemtec have done the most GR mods Ive seen to date (turbo, exhaust, injectors, cams, sequential gear box, diffs, ECU etc). Speed Labs approach is for us owners who want to take the tuning level steps vs all the mods at once.

Yes, they did lots of mods and have gone pretty far with their vehicle, however we are building this up as a drag platform, hence the H patten PPG gearset etc! And yes, we are going to be doing cams on the stock ecu, and lots of other things to further develop this platform with Ecutek and be able to offer significant power gain packages to our clients without having to put everyone on a 6k+ standalone! -Roni

Just saw a video of some one spend 2 straight days tuning with ecutech and they went from 289-349 with just an eventari intake an E30. Which blew my mind considering the E40, intake, exhaust, tune. Is doing roughly 330 peak.

Yup I saw the same video, unless that number gets verified on my mainline, I'd have to call bullshit on it. We spent a combined 10-12 days on the dyno, and this is pretty much the max we can get out of the vehicle, keep in mind, E30-50 wont make a difference as these cars dont really care for timing, so the only benefit is knock activity going down, and burning slightly cooler in the chamber. We will keep pushing the limits with new parts and development and see how far we can get the platform to go without getting into cam/big upgrade territory.

Carista OBD2 can turn off the seat belt chime btw, so much easier moving the car around the shop

@@connerbirley2823 ECUTEK released phoneflash for the GR Corolla this week. Tuners like Stratified and Limit+1 now offer remote tuning. I'm sure Speedlab will offer this soon.

this car reminds me of the asterisk, we're all glad it's a thing but there are so many drawbacks to modifying it. most of the owners are financing these vehicles and don't want to void the warranty or even worse have to pay for a new engine. toyota has always ruined their cars with secure ecu's and when they do build a proper sports car it has a bmw or subaru engine. dont even get me started on the gr86

I think i might be the only person with a stock GR lol. No offence, but everyone is ruining these cars with mods. Im only doing very minimal things like shift knob and slight cosmetics. But everyone is modifying the exhaust, intake, turbo, or other engine mods. All throw CEL. Nice vid for your build tho like i said no offence
