Despite how cool this lore is, it showcases something fundamental about the Cabal Caiatl unintentionally completed the ritual by killing Umun Arath, emphasising how the Hive God of War could instigate a war race to do her bidding solely to trick them into summoning her. I hope Caiatl well and truly learnt from this, that not all hive can be blown up, especially if they're conducting a ritual, otherwise we'll have another Torobatl Xivu arath learnt one Metal Gear Rising truth through Umun Arath, there will be bloodshed.

Rasputin managed to figure it out by running billions of simulations on how to stop Xivu, and decided that the best course of action is to destroy all of its weapons and himself.

with the way destiny is set up a large chunk of new content is made to be completed either over the course of a few days every week or one day a week or similar...every week.. even assuming this to be not true that all that waiting for clovis and who ever to get done looking for information for instance theres still progress to be made getting data making gains with enemy defeats then delivering data back and forth next to getting more data to bulk all efforts as an example.... even taking out of the equation the one mission a week time period for season of seraph or haunted or whatever else wed still be trying to do a mission or 3 per day before getting a raid together which even assuming that isnt needed for like kings fall theres still the time crap for that... i havent done kings fall or vault of glass and so on cause im not certain about my strength skill or guns. to say nothing about my lack of friends

your comment is a year old by this point so maybe before season of the deep, but Xivu has basically a cheat code against guardians, guardians win, she gets more strength, guardians lose, she gets more strength, guardians so much as flex a muscle in aggression, she gets stronger from that, It's why she was able to take Torbotl so easily her entire power is the grey goo scenario of war, originally she was limited but because she can take now her one major weakness became a major boon

But we had also lost to the red legion. Caital is smart. And she knows that scissors beats paper but doesn’t beat rock. In other words, we might be able to defeat a hive god, but she might not. And as the cabal proved, they can beat light bearers with the right prep and equipment. Yes her plan to defeat us in combat wasn’t a great idea. But she didn’t really think that working with us was an option without us being under her rule. We didn’t think any form of alliance was possible until it happened. She knew she was weak. But as sun tz said, appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are week. Fitting because she has read sun tz.

@@jackbrax7808 it’s actually less of that and more so the people under her were expecting her to be warlike, Caital genuinely didn’t want to fight us and wanted to be allies with us but since she was so recently crowned as empress she knew her soldiers would gladly abandon her if she didn’t stick to what they considered to be cabal strength, I forgot what lore it was but Caital and Zavala talk about it and it’s kinda sweet

It was to appease her councilors and people. Caiatl was willing to enter an alliance, but the rest of the Cabal would have considered this weak, hence the Rite of Proving and bells being provided to let us smoothen things over with some good old fashioned ritual combat

Hope they do Xivu Arath justice. As much as I want the Witness to be the finalest enemy of the game(As in, maybe the final boss of TFS raid whatever it may be) I also think that Xivu deserves that honor, it would be a bombastic ending honestly.

We're gonna fight the witness in a story mission just like every other gotcha dlc. Ghaul killed in story mission, Uldren killed in story mission, eramis defeated in story mission, Hasladun defeated in story mission, savathun defeated in story mission, calus defeated in story mission. So following the trend of the main bug bad evil guy defeated in the sorry mission and then a new force is for us to drop ght in the raid, the witness will be defeated in the story mission, and something more powerful probably a new race even more powerful than the darkness will be defeated in the raid. Most likely the purest form of darkness

To think savathun's influence was there causing the cabal to ally with guardians is really amazing. She had a plan to keep the traveler hidden in her throne world but we foiled that. Now her backup plan is coming to play.

It was probably one of the smartest decisions an emperor ever made in Destiny. When in doubt, even if their beliefs don’t line up with her peoples’, she couldn’t deny the power that guardians hold. Fast forward to the present and now the cabal is one of the strongest allies we have fighting with us.

@@DominusAngel905 nah bro, Ghaul isn't getting rezed. The only reason the Hive got the Light is because that's what the Traveler wanted to do before it came to us. It wanted to work with the Krill but the Witness and Rhulk got them first. What makes you think the Traveler wants to revive Ghaul after he forced it to lash out, alerting the Witness of what was going on and making it come back?

Ghaul has shown all these attributes even in the lore. You also glazed past of me saying that Ghaul's body is still intact and not destroyed. And the hive already had the light but not pure light only corrupted light which still contained pure light. And the traveler still decided to give them the light. The Traveler doesn't care how evil you are if you die showing devotion bravery self sacrifice you get revived and the power to wield light. And I ain't your bro

Caiatl is actually really smart. She knows her council see her as weakling for retreating and wanting to usurp her. She wants to ally with the guardians, but knows most of her people will not willingly join because of tradition. She then demands the guardians to surrender and bow to her. Showing them she is strong. She then creates the Proving and have those who are against her go against he guardians. Which they lose. She not only got rid of her opposition but proved that the guardians are worthy to ally with for the neutrals in her forces.

Makes complete sense since as we know our Allies r a bit thin Our fallen buddies are just a very small clan made out of some fighters + the pirate crew of spider but the elskni people r scattered and are small with no real home If we allied with the ruler of the cabal in lore we knew they did have a home planet and controlled tons of terrain but with the empress we know the truth and that there also very featured across the land

This was the same trick Xivu Arath tried to use on us as humanity during Season of the Seraph. If we had let Xivu Arath gain control of Rasputin's warsats, then she would have weaved so much death and destruction that she could easily summon her armies to earth. If instead we had used the Warsats, or another power had gained control of them, then the same thing would happen and she would have enough death to summon her armies. Rasputin instead decided to sacrifice himself to make sure no parties involved could gain control of the warsats, thus leaving Xivu Arath no choice but to wait and create another plan.

Was the planet destroyed, i was told it was, but with Riis still inhabitable ater the whirlwind, as many in the comments are saying a return to torabatal would be great, especially with the upcoming Heracy episode prehaps we will find whats left of Xivu recovering here. Or maybe she try to retake oryx's dreadnought or return to fudement so she may reconnect to her throne world.
