Thanks a million for this video. I am extremely new with this laser stuff but I am very interested in learning as much as I can. This will help me tremendously for when I go to line up my first job once I get that far. Now if I could only find a video on doing a job from start to finish.....lol.... It's hard when you really new and don't even know what kind of question to ask let alone searching for it... Thanks again.

The second I saw the headline of this video, I hulk smashed the like button, subscribed and rang the bell. I’m running an xTool D1 Pro 20 watt. I guess regardless of whatever engraver you’re running, all react the same way with Lightburn. I will be saving this video for future reference.

SUPER HELPFUL! I do the "Coaster" circular shape wood engraving, and I find it best to start engraving in the middle. The problem I kept running into was that I didnt set the coordinates and set origin. Thank you for this. You made me better!

I have used the JTech laser on my shapeoko with some success. I was most impressed when I called Jtech and got the best customer services in my life- they helped me set this a up and use it. However, IO decided I needed a dedicated laser platform because the Jtech/Shapeoko system was hard to control power and speed or origin when using lightburn. This laser just gave me the bug to get more. I want to engrave door welcome mats and use a rotary for cubs and glass.

This was a huge help! Could you please do a video explaining how to set up multiple projects on the grid so they are processed one after the other. So if I were to place out 5 tiles with the same image on each tile once they were where i needed them to be I could start the burn and it would go until all five tiles were complete. That would be awesome .

Great video. How about doing a video on how to do a large burn where you have to move the wood piece on the board to burn the second half of the image. Tips on aligning that board and best method of origin for this. How does framing play into something like this. My Atomstack X7 Pro has a burn size of 34" x 16", so if I burn an image the size of 46", how do I continue the burn and true alignment?

This video explained a lot about what my machine sometimes does. very interesting. I only have one critique, the cursor is white and it makes it hard to follow, if you can change the color to green or red it would help a great deal. I had to stop and back up a number of times to catch where the cursor was going.

A good explanation of one of Lightburn's probably most asked questions "where the hell is my laser going to burn from" I actually have a couple of Inox rulers on the edge of my bed in X and Y which I have embedded and also find that useful for reference and I use a wooden square on the bed itself held in place by a couple of Neo magnets for repetitive work. Then pop the piece of wood in or plastic and away you go time after time. Works perfectly. I dont thing since sorting this out in my head a few years back have I used Absolute Coordinates once. Please also dont forget to use "set laser position" from the left hand side menu, this will help you set up the laser head as well and is forgotten a lot of the time.

@@jenngoldstein5941 if you click on the "set laser position icon on the left hand side of the screen, looks like an ice cream cone, then click on a place in the workspace the laser will automatically go to that place, its a very quick way to get the laser head where you want it. Faster than jogging.

My friend, all in peace? I want to congratulate you on your excellent work with this program. I am learning a lot. Crawling, but learning a lot. I wanted to know if you can clear my doubt? Here's the thing: every time I turn on my Atomstack A5 Pro, when it goes to the origin, it keeps hitting the sides of the steel frame. And it makes a huge noise, like it's straining the straps. The following message appears: "Homing ALARM:9 Homing failure. Could not find limit switch in search distance. Set to 1.5 * max_travel in search and 5 * thrust in locating phases." As I'm quite a beginner, I don't know how to solve this. Any light?

Im confused… I am new to laser engraving/cutting, but have been 3D printing for several years. With 3D printing and using software like Simplify3D. With that software, i just plug in my bed dimensions and the software knows its bounds and where ever i place an object to be printed, it appears in the exact place every time.. I assumed software that is always highly recommended like Lightburn would be able to do the same… I assumed.. But seems like we have to do a lot of messing around and restarting the software, etc, just to get everything to sync up correctly. This video cleared up some things for me and some of it i must figured out only because after much trial and error, this was the only way to get what i needed. Figured i needed more time to get it set up right and it seems there is no “set up right”.. How i have been using it and some of the techniques discussed here are not just a work around, this is just how but works. I just don’t get it.. There isn’t much difference between 3D printing and Laser engraving but the software to do each is vastly different in the wrong places. I think 101, the bed dimensions and boundaries should almost be automatic and keep. If i place something in the software representation of my actual bed, it should appear when i hit go.. Not a series or restarts and homing and offsets.. My CR10 3D Printer and Simplify pretty much worked at the start.. Only issues i had to struggle with was prints sticking to the bed. But this issue is worse since its not an issue in 3D printing

Greetings! I really injoy your videos in helping me with my ortur laser. If i may ask a ?; how might I turn off the 'fire alrm' on my unit. It is super sensitive and continues to interupt any progress I try to make with a project. When it is not going off I can't tell why so I am not able to trouble shoot it. I have air and fans and so on to help with the airflow so no burning is happening. Please advise if you can help with a workaround for this issue. Thank you and keep up the great work.
