I was there. Volume was tremendously high. I was blown away by the show. Probably the best gig I have ever been.

I got here from the song What's My Name? which is a bonus track from Demolition. I'm glad I found a live version of this.

@DynamiteWhiskey The 'New Haven '88' broadcast and the Sand Diego '88 shows are the best I've heard from the tour. Rob's voice was at it's peek, and Dave Holland was insane behind the drumkit on those recordings. The San Diego gig has the complete setlist from the tour that they did, apart from this track. :( Great sound too! 'Turbo Lover', 'The Ripper' and 'Beyond the Realms of Death' are all played along with the regular set.

@metalmadniki 'Johhny B. Goode' was done occationally as an encore and a few times in the middle of the set as well. 'Turbo Lover', 'Beyond The Realms Of Death' and 'The Sentinel' was done a handful of times as well.

@DynamiteWhiskey It was a great tour. My brother catched it, and has told me it was the best Priest tour he'd seen. He saw the 'Fuel For Life' and 'Painkiller' (twice) tours, but 'Mercenaries of Metal' in '88 was the best. The stage looked like an old iron/metal works factory of some sort. Rob had a lasercannon on stage which he fired during 'Heavy Metal' at the audience. Rob was lifted down on stage during 'The Hellion' in a large iron cage. Too bad the tour hardly wasn't documented at all.

@metalmadniki I think the comment you're referring to about KK mentioning 'Blood Red Skies' was in a metal magazine (the interview was at the old Mercenaries of Metal website), where he said they had rehearsed it. This almost was almost in the middle of the tour. K.K: "...we've just rehearsed a few songs from the new album, that we'd like to try out. We've rehearsed 'Blood Red Skies' and we're bringing something off 'Turbo' back into the set as well, plus a few other surprises..."

@DynamiteWhiskey I've only seen a few songs from the crappy Montreal video bootleg here on YT, as well as a few official promo pics of the band, including one of Rob with ponytail and a 'Heavy Metal' leather vest with a large lasercannon shooting at the audience. He did that during 'Heavy Metal. I've heard rumours that on some dates, the stageshow included a mold of Rob, where it was poured fake molten metal into, and Rob would appear out of it, some way. Didn't do that when my brother saw them.

@metalmadniki Sorry, that is wrong. They rehearsed 'Blood Red Skies' as well as 'Hard As Iron', but they never did them Live infront of an audience. Every setlist from the 1986 'Fuel For Life' and 1988 'Mercenaries of Metal' Tours was documented back on the old 'Mercenaries Of Metal' webiste, made by a roadie that followed the band on those two tours. Unfortunatly this site has been down for at least 2 years. Dave Holland found 'Hard As Iron' too difficult and fast to do, after rehearsing it.

@SilverTounge85 Yeh, the whole molten metal into a mold to 'generate' Rob Halford idea looked good on paper, but the undertaking to make it happen consistently throughout the tour proved to be too much before it had a chance to really take off...hence, the cage idea; which was shrouded in black as it was moved into position during 'The Hellion,' and unveiled just in time for Rob to start singing 'Electric Eye...' a still nonetheless effective intro...the crowds ate it up regardless!!!

@TheSetibevol88 I remember reading that they actually went through with that on the first few shows, but the result was rather clumsy or something, so it was shelved, and they went with the cage. I remember reading it on a webside dedicated to 'Ram It Down', which has long been defunct.. Not sure if it ever happened, I guess only the band can answer that. The openings in 1986/1988/1990/91 were the best.

@SilverTounge85 I know! I envy your brother as fuck! I'd give 10 years of my life to have an official album or an official dvd of this tour but unfortnatly there are only bootlegs and amateur videos of these shows..everyone in this tour was in his prima! rob, kk and glenn played better than ever(surely better than the painkiller and fuel for life tours), the stage was majestic and teh songs were played at breakneck speed...is a big shame that the most "HM" tour ever was not Officially documented
