Nice to see Disney acknowledging Who Framed Roger Rabbit, especially since the debacle between Spielberg and Eisner in the 90s that lead to Roger’s decrease in Disney media. Maybe they bought the rights to him back since he appeared in the Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers movie and Pinocchio remake?

@rosiebaybie62458 ай бұрын
Well, I guess Disney wanted to go a little darker for Halloween. You know, if there are any kids in the audience-and depending on how emotionally stable/mature they are-you could use this show as a metaphor to discuss genocide and prejudice to children. Now, it may sound crazy, but hear me out. Judge Doom’s view was that toons were basically livestock that could be controlled and eliminated whenever they (the humans) wanted, much like certain minority/underprivileged groups were-and in some cases, are still-treated. …Of course, that’s just my overthinking, autistic AF brain talking.
@paulle18998 ай бұрын
No, Disneyland will never compete with Knott's Scary Farm and Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights as long they continue to maintain the family-friendly Oogie Boogie Bash. While Judge Doom might be Disney's attempt to go darker in part with their rivals, it's nothing compared to the houses, scary atmosphere, adult-oriented storylines, electronic music, chainsaws, blood, scary costumes, and jumpscares that are evident in Knott's Scary Farm, Universal's HHN, and most Cedar Fair and Six Flags' Halloween events. As a guy from the Bay Area who's looking for a good scare, I will continue to go to USH's HHN or Knott's Scary Farm for the time being.

I never thought we would ever see this character in the parks. I love everything about this. The actor playing him is perfect, and he has some great improvisation with the crowd. The dipmobile is on display beside him. They killed the freaking shoe again!! And don't think i didn't notice the use of the name "Acme" on some of those barrels (a name that Disney has to pay for if they want to use it). This was perfect and I wish I could see it in person.

Technically, this can be used to introduce some really dark topics, as it not only features murder, but I’m kind of picking of a racist mindset towards toons from the character, so it kind of deals with that. I’m glad Disney is stepping away from sheltering kids and using things like this to introduce darker topics to children. Parents can use scenes like this to discuss topics like that.

I love seeing Doom, and I love that Disney is still remembering that a large part of the oogie boogie bash and MNSSHP ARE us elder millennials who appreciate these villains. BUT, while this actor looks good, and put on a fun show, as a huge Doom fan (I watched the film every day since I was five and my dad showed it to me, still at 36 it’s one of my top five films), no one will ever have that Christopher Lloyd cadence in their Doom voice, that’s what it’s missing.

They should’ve had smoke come out, and the toon shoe whimpering, when It got dipped.
@martidodger71068 ай бұрын
I wonder as the performance goes on they may add it in. It could be, at the moment, the fog could be messing with the sound/performance depending on how the speakers and other props are laid out , or the effect is simply not working just yet. Disney likes to add fog where it can, so the lack of it could just be a simple "the effect is off". But if they didn't add it in, I am sure with all the "fog/smoke effects would work so well" comments on all the videos of this performance, I am sure it will get added. If it doesn't get added it may also be due to guest proximity to the performance. Since this is a walkthrough attraction, smoke effects may pose some sort of a hazard to the guests in such a tight space. I have noticed that in the last few years during the MNSSHP(pre-covid) the rolling fog through the park walkways have not been as pronounced as in years past, as it probably created a tripping hazard for people walking around in the dark not being able to see where curbs or people's feet in front of them are.
