Donna Catoe is a joke of an attorney. She doesn't know how to represent people in landlord-tennant cases. I believe this case has been dragging on for at least 3 to 4 months, maybe longer, mostly because of her incompetence. She should lose her license to practice law at the least, if not completely disbarred.🧐😬😒

I've followed this case from the first time they appeared, the plaintiff's lawyer has been incompetent from the start and I've been surprised to see the plaintiff's continue with her. The lawyer/property manager has not acted in her client's best interest at all and hopefully they will separate themselves from her even as property manager when this is all said and done.

The Jerome's should sue their "property manager" and Attorney- she's obviously incompetent

You can’t be both a fiduciary agent on behalf of AND attorney for the plaintiff at the same time! How does she not see the inherent conflict of interest where she (in her role as manager) regularly interacts with the tenants which automatically means that such interaction simultaneously constitutes ongoing ex parte communication with the defendants (in her role as attorney for the plaintiffs)! It’s so incredibly obvious to everyone…..well, everyone except her!

I have watched this since the very first appearance and still refuse to believe she is actually a lawyer who passed the bar. She sounded so incredibly clueless with less than an average citizens grasp on the law in the first few hearings but now it seems she’s just as unethical as she is ignorant. She wants to stay on because her actions as the property manager is the primary reason for this entire dispute. She was the issue to begin with and did not want this to go to trial but it will (but maybe the owners seeing how screwed they are with her as the manager and now legally) will give give them everything and more to end this now. She’s not entirely out of the water either way.

I’ve seen this kind of thing before. A party will retain incompetent counsel and for a variety of reasons can’t see the incompetence let alone how much that incompetence is hurting them. This lawyer doesn’t even have a grasp of the basic legal issues which are fairly straightforward. Here the judge is focusing on the ethical rule that an attorney shouldn’t be both attorney and witness the other, bigger issue is her inability to understand and analyze legal issues. She should not be practicing law.

I have to say that Ms Jerome seems lovely. I also think the tenants seem to be reasonable. IMHO, I think that Lawyer for the Jerome’s, has been the problem. Ms Jerome has seemed very nice and reasonable in every video. I bet, all could have been settled long ago, if that lawyer older lady had not been involved.

Judge needs to remind her that her conflict of interest makes appealable, any decision the judge renders in favor of her clients.

The saddest part of this case is that the Jerome’s were before Judge Simpson SEVERAL times represented by this totally incompetent lawyer. On EVERY appearance Judge Simpson had to school this lawyer on BASICS. My hat goes off to Judge Simpson for doing that schooling very diplomatically and allowed her to retain her dignity. What is incomprehensible to me is why the Jerome’s keep her as a lawyer. Her incompetence & inability to comprehend information is astounding & was from the get-go. She & her incompetence & unprofessional behaviour created most of the issues with the tenants & prevented a reasonable and expedient outcome for both. Wishing plaintiff & defendants a speedy resolve and now that their lawyer is out of the way that can actually happen.

She wants to be property manager and attorney on these cases. May seem like a great setup to save money on eviction cases, but you can’t ethically do both. Sounds like she is willfully ignorant of that fact.

They were ordered to mediation over a month ago...wonder why that failed. IF all of the Plantiffs allegations are true...with any other lawyer this case would probably have concluded in Plantiffs favor by before now. These people should have clued in by now on this woman'sincapability

This is the third or fourth time I have seen this attorney in front of Judge Simpson. She has been inept and argumentative the entire time. Hands down one of the worst attorneys I’ve seen. I assumed she has a personal relationship with the clients as there is no other reason to not fire her months ago.

Nothing else makes sense to me. She is unwilling to do the LAWFUL thing here....as Judge Simpson has described to her. (she wants the $$$$$$$$$$) I could be way off in my conclusion....so if I'm off base on this...duly noted. LOL

So she wants to stay on and then if it goes to trial the plaintiff can get a new attorney? The new attorney would need time to Catchup with what has happened which would incur extra costs to the defendants. She is also a potential witness. She thinks she is not an essential witness but she may not be one for the plaintiff but she can not make that decision for the defendant. She doesn't want to be a witness and that is why she is giggling yo stay on as the attorney which to me seems like she is trying to hide something.

All the Judge could say for her to understand,-- you can't be an attorney and a witness in the same case.

She is attempting to skirt ethical codes of conduct! She clearly has a vested interest and has in fact engaged in conversations *as a licensed attorney* with the tenants that were intimidating in nature. She is absolutely an unethical lawyer and the context of what she's saying while she continues to interrupt and argue with Judge Simpson confirms it. She should not only be disqualified but she should be reported to the Bar Association.

Judge Simpson, just get it over with and take her off this case.

she does not get the conflict of interest by acting as attorney for both parties, is a conflict of interest. She cannot be a witness nor attorney for both side of the case. Disbarment will end her so-called lawyer career. And she needs to retire.

Basically, the judge is telling her that the right hand knows what the left hand is doing, which would be inappropriate if she were to be called as a witness.

Surely she'd get a cut of any deal reached, that's why she doesn't want to step down.

I wouldn't worry about the plaintiffs' right to choose their own council. The plaintiffs clearly make very poor decisions. I don't know much about the requirements in a trial. Were the defendants' lawyers duty-bound to file this motion at this time? Seems unfortunate that they would have to request more competent competition.
