To be clear, the ONLY reason an attorney uses a term like “grievance” in reference to another attorney is to threaten or intimidate them. Bennett is a slimeball from the word go. Eventually he’ll be disbarred.
@MrBollocks10

I don't see the problem. It only becomes a threat if it's true .
@kcindc5539

@@MrBollocks10 You need to follow a little more closely. What the defense attempted was blackmail and the judge caught it. The judge was able to determine that the prosecutor had every right to bring the matter to trial. And that the defense threatening to file bogus paperwork to attempt to have the prosecutor and her boss fired for legitimately doing their jobs is not only unethical but can result in the disbarment of defense counsel. In fact, at the end you hear that defense counsel admits to wrongdoing and will submit their admission of wrongdoing to the Michigan Bar….. if they don’t, Judge Simpson said he will. Here’s another way of looking at it. Let’s say you’re a recently hired employee. You and another older, more experienced work colleague (a peer) have been asked to each submit a project proposal for senior management to review, and one of the proposals will be selected for implementation. While you’re each working on your proposals, the older more experienced colleague tells you that you had better not submit your proposal, or else they will submit (bogus) paperwork to HR alleging you and your boss have been sexually harassing them. You know perfectly well the allegation is BS and they’re trying to intimidate you from rightfully doing your job assigned. That’s what this slimeball of a defense counsel tried to do, and in legal circles that’s a huge no-no. Why? Because when you file false allegations on another attorney you’re trying not only for that person to lose their job, but their law license entirely.

Looks like Attorney Bennet has swapped his shovel for a bobcat to continue his search for the core of this earth. So far he's accused Judge Simpson of favoritism because Simpson granted a DA's motion for an emergency bond hearing. Then after they adjourned that to the following day, when given multiple opportunities to apologize, the man failed to read the room and pretended nothing ever happened. And now this. Threatening to file a grievance against another lawyer to try to get her to not file on his client. I appreciate Judge Simpson's comment at the end, reminding him that if he didn't self report the judge would take care of that for him. Based on his current trajectory, I suspect he may not get that done in a timely manner, swapping his bobcat for an industrial tunnel boring machine. I feel bad for hoping he continues, but honestly I kinda wanna see just how bad it can get. I feel for his clients though. They deserve better.

Can't speak for all, but a lot of these DUI attorneys will lie their butts off just to get their clients the sweetest deal, just so they can brag about it on their websites and social media. They'll lie about how their client has suddenly turned their life around, they're planning on doing charity work, etc. Usually, they'll use a therapist (who they basically have on payroll) to claim that their client has been getting 'treatment' and they're now totally alcohol/drug free. And then the attorney will make a tiktok about how their client was driving drunk for the third time, wrecked two cars, crashed into a tree, resisted the police... and got away with a few months of probation lol

The sentence the drunk kid got was pure bullshit. Just because it's his "first" offense, done NOT mean it's the first itme he did it. It only means it's the first time he got CAUGHT. To put a drunk that caused a head on accident on probation. shows nothing is to be learned from this experience. Yes, the goal is rehab, but that also includes punishment, so the drunk won't attempt that act again. Stats show that for every time a drunk is caught being a DUI or OWI, they have committed the act many times before that. This kid, who has $$$ by the way, will learn nothing for this experience. It's a damned shame the judge and prosecution can't be held liable for when this kid does this again and kills or maims someone while doing it after they slapped his hand and let him go...
