Judge Mathis

Judge Mathis

Күн бұрын

The plaintiff let the defendant move into her home. She claims the defendant was always drunk, and one night after a music festival, the defendant attacked her and busted her tooth out. She’s suing for dental bills. The defendant argues he was never mean to the plaintiff. He admits he hit her, but only after the plaintiff attacked him first.

@marleonetti7 well if the defendant would've admitted that he did cause her tooth to be knocked out, instead of trying to minimize the amount of restraint he used, it might have went differently. JM believed the girlfriend when she said the woman would drink, so if she got too drunk & became very violent, it would be natural to assume the guy would have no choice but to defend himself

but if u do happen to help someone then dont become angry that resentful that u helped that person and then take your frustrations out on them and thats what i believe happened . if that defendant was beating up on that woman then there is no way that her larger boyfriend would have just stood there and did nothing to the defendant . the plaintiff's boyfriend knew that she attacked the defendant because his behavior at the time of the incident supports that , and i dont know how the judge missed that . also that woman is larger and heavier than the defendant and i think the description of what he had to do to stop the attack made perfect sense . this judge is off his rocker sometimes .

You see on JM and in other like-areas the situations that don't work. How does that prove that roommate situations NEVER work? Even as high as the divorce and/or separation rate for marriage is in the U. S (some estimates say 50%), that means 50% do work. Keep in mind, my problem with your statistics is use of the word "NEVER".

"I will never attack someone who is sharing their home with me....." fast-forward "I told her to shut her mouth in a very choice way...". So, the defendant will never attack someone in their home but he simply defend himself getting her under restrain from the balcony all the way to the bed and keep her pinned down. The plaintiff better take him to criminal court and have him narrate his story once more and see how he fares there.

It's interesting that so many in the comments keep referring to Jeff as the plaintiff's husband when she specifically said that he's her boyfriend. This is a weird case with a number of completely opposite testimony. It appears to me that there is a lot of drinking, arguing, disrespect, and violence going on and not solely caused or indulged in by the defendant. (not excusing his actions though).

A couple of things. First and foremost, the husband needs to learn to be a man and not let guests in his home, disrespect his wife. Second, the guess in the home should be grateful. They had a place to stay and had no business disrespecting anyone. Quite honestly after, the first time they would’ve been out on the streets.

Judge don't listen past her being a woman that got hit. She said she was mad that she got left. I believe she was drunk and I believe exactly what the defendant said.. Women better remember their hands belong to women before they hit a man. I don't condone violence but if you throw a lick you can receive one. The defendant didn't lie about them not getting into arguments it was eatablished that she was arguing by herself with both sides saying it was said they're surprised he didn't go off. But they need their own place anyways to avoid stuff like that.
