The comments make me sad. So many Martial Art enthusiasts who don't see the value these two gained, learning from each other. High Ranking Martial Artists will understand that this life is not about superiority, it is about fellowship.

You nailed it. In my humble opinion, martial art is a marathon, not a sprint. As part of the journey, you will meet different styles, that can actually help you to gwt closer to mastery. I salute u.

Nice demonstration. It's good to see a friendly, positive video between two styles instead of the usual BS, ego driven versus videos. They each enjoy and are quite good at their respective styles, it's obvious. Ignore the haters.

Amin Sharrokhi ????????????? I am sorry, it that is such a bullshit. There is nothing in the world that supports what you are saying. Koreans cannot even read their own true history as they are all written in Chinese characters. So all they can do is to regurgitate the fabrications that their government keeps on cocking up. Talk a look at this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fMpoorp9vc6yd2Q.html The only martial art that Korea had was archery. Everything else they learned from Japan in the 20th century.

I trained in Judo and JuJutsu. Hapkido is basically Korean AikiJuJutsu with some stuff thrown in. Very effective when taught for combat. As Korea’s military uses it and spars extensively.

hakido is choson hapkiyusul or "corean aiki ju jutsu", the hanji and the hanja for aikido and aikido are the same... this means that the founders had the same idea in mind... pass from a jutsu way to a "do" way... so... aikido and hapkido are the same martial art but differents points of view.

There’s a lot of elements in hapkido taken from judo. There are also however things from Akido and taekwondo. I always wanted to take hapkido as I only did judo but I’m unsure if it would be as effective in real situations as judo has treated me very well in fights.

The kicks would be the only plus if you already knows judo throws and submissions, since I doubt the aikido part of hapkido would be that much useful unless catching someone offguard or to prevent some bjj takedowns

They both come from aikijutsu, jujitsu also, but Hapkido is actually aikijutsu with Korean name as Hapkido came to Korea from a Korean taken slave as a boy in WW2, when he returned to Korea after Japan surrendered, he used the name Hapkido so Jordan’s wouldn’t burn down his school and kill him, so much hatred of the Koreans to the Japanese due to the severe oppression they suffered with the Japanese occupation, Japan tried to wipe out Korean culture in their occupation and were brutal taking slaves and total domination. The history of martial T solution is both sad and fascinating. Of course the Koreans added to aikijutsu giving Hapkido kicks and strikes making it a comprehensive martial Art

The throws are similar because in the beginning, Hapkido was basically Aiki Jujitsu mixed with Kudo, basically Korean Judo. The founder of Hapkido, and the family I was trained by, was Daito Ryu Aiki Jujitsu and his 1st student was a Korean Judo practitioner. Later kicks and strikes from traditional Korean martial arts were added.

Reality check. Judo is great hard sport and you have be good to compete. Hapkido is to illuminate the other person or persons within 2 to 5 seconds where they are NO longer a threat to you. Hapkido has judo blocks which are illegal in contest judo for it prevents judo movement working. I have great respect for Judo people they work hard and train within their techniques. Just measure what you have learn in Hapkido with kicks alone is so hard and then add hands throws. You really cannot compare the two given purpose and range of techniques you have master to be good.. Judo is one on one Hapkido is one or many at once fighting art.

@@kennethrogers1129 I been around Hapkido for 25 years and have know great Masters of the art. My instructor taught Dan Ki Gong. which is a Koran form of Qi gong. His form of Ki Gong has both hard and soft during movement within that act of core breathing. Simply it increases core energy and strength both and the hips are stabilizes during movement like throwing someone or do any sport like baseball. Since all movement is center around the hips.if the hips do work will look out. Blending your strength, in hips and Ki energy base on HOW you do core breathing. Core breathing is center development so the mind directs the core muscles action forming a breath and energy direction for movement . From energy point of view the Function of mind is consume energy in form of emotions in thoughts or direct energy during movements within purpose.. I do have some KZfaq Video on my form of Core breathing. Hope to do more in time for my main goal is to give technics to change stress in shoulders and tension in the body that limit movement. Thanks for the comment. Hap ki do to me has range to take on three people and be affective. I have trained to take on three on one. Now there are many instructions base on how the instructor leaned. My instructor focus on what is Natural in movement and purpose. He used that word so much and it took me 10 years to finely realize what he meet by having the experience. When you see him move and do a technique it was natural. Being natural is being in Technique and base how affective is your technique doing the movement with core breathing. It not a simple thing to get the physical experiences with mental state as one in the movement. Core breathing is part of process during movement and power action. The word power is NOT simple or ease and what most people think in power is strength increase through core energy. Have a good day. You can tell I enjoy talking about Hapkido. I look at many Arts before focus on Hapkido. It art you can still do in 70s with less effort. The word effort is key point in Hapkido principles. Changing direction is base on effort in force. The balance speed movement. Jacky Chan is example of Hapkido. If look at his 1980 movie Young Master. The kicks you see at the end in the fight all Hapkido techniques. Jacky abilities are great. It just to much fun for me talking about Hapkido
@Qitrainer
@Qitrainer 2 жыл бұрын
@@kennethrogers1129 My view. So many of the Hapkido video showing techniques have to much movement they are not simple looking and direct. My instructor stress balance affect to get your opponent off balances is the first act of a technique. What does that mean is you have to get his head to move little therefore his time to respond is longer and your done. If you get the head to move they can not move until the head is stabilized. I do not see that idea in shown Hapkido Techniques so they have use more force to complete action. I judge a technique base on effort to do it and how affective is it. What I like about in Hapkido is counter techniques to everything you learn there is counter ability.. My view you can neutralize any technique within the first 1/4 of a movement. If do not stop it then you adjust your self to complete the techniques in the Next 1/4 of the movement. IF do not do anything your broken. The first think you have do at the very beginning of every technique is get the head movement that action creates off balances affect where the person cannot react. If you do not do that counter Techniques can be used. If the head is off balances your off balance is the idea. Hope you like that idea
