Man, the Juiced series had the potential to go toe-to-toe with the Need for Speed and Midnight Club series. Juiced 1 had so many good ideas that I wish newer racing games would implement: the decal system automatically applying the decals of companies whose parts you used, the crew reputation system, the pink slip events etc. Imagine if this game got remade with a better handling model, improved car sounds and more cars. It would give modern NFS a good run for its money.

Old games had passion. While age shows, they have features that not many games have these days.

There's a trick to earn big money in this game - Find a Sprint (Drag) event, preferably in mid tiers - Spectate the race - Look whether there's only one AWD car in the lineup - If the odds are big, bet all in on the AWD car. If not, just find another sprint race with a similar lineup and bigger betting odds then bet on the AWD car - The AWD car will almost always dominate the sprint then you'll get a huge payout If I remember correctly, it also works on circuit and point-to-point races. AWD cars are generally OP in this game, examples are the 3000GT, Evo 6, 22B.

10:34 this is what i LOVED about underground 1 and was so sorely disappointed when underground 2 didn't do it. at the beginning of the game you race low tier racers, with stock-looking starter cars same as you. all named, all preset cars, and as you progress in the story, so do they - their car progressively upgrades alongside you, not straying too far from their original design and colors. think of al's grey civic, or daryl's yellow golf gti, or priss' white lancer. and then later on you start to meet pre-established racers who are already upgraded. they've clearly been around longer than you. think of b-dawg's red eclipse, kaz's green/blue skyline, or amy's red rx7. by the end of it, some cars are maxed out and fully tuned all the way from stock. some weren't as successful and it shows from their absence later in the game. think of hunter's civic or probe's mx5. some are programmed to be more difficult to beat so that they're more infamous than others. it's an underrated layer of worldbuilding that games just don't care about these days. nutz' celica, ricco's sentra, sparks' 350z, slik's s2000, jet's impreza... i could go on and on. they made it feel lived in with the most simple collection of presets.

Juiced feels like a fever dream to me. It was the first time I ever played a non-AAA game, and it felt wildly different. The scenarios the game throws at you for losing all your money (aliens abduct you for a night and then leave a few thousand dollars, you inherit a fortune from a distant relative, etc.) are surreal. The incredibly annoying phone dial sounds for when you need to call someone must have been put in there as a joke as I can't imagine anyone hearing that and thinking "Yes, this is good, we need this in our game". The car physics were also insane, difficult to control but at the same time it encouraged you to do tricks; it's where I learned the phrase "J-turn" which happens surprisingly often in a race, intentional or not. Maybe that's why they made the physics the way they are? The way pink slip races worked was that when you first accepted them, the game would save your data as if though you had lost the race (your car is now gone) and only by winning the pink slip race do you get to make a save that keeps your car plus the rival's car. It was done like this to prevent you from yanking the memory card before losing and trying the race again. But there was an oversight in that you could yank the card out before accepting the pink slip race, fail to save, and put it back in only when you won the race. Such a simple exploit. All these things in combination makes it feel like it never really happened, but it did and there are other people playing it too.

First time I popped my knees and discovered a different kind of pain was while playing this game, ah, good times.

Juiced was possibly the best in terms of racing. The DNA system they introduced in 2 was a gamechanger where it shows how passive or aggressive you are.

juiced is top tier, funny thing about juiced 2 ive noticed, the pc version is the best version i feel. the wheels are proper dimmensions, on ps2 version the wheels dont fit any car properly, there is also less customizing options on ps2 version

A childhood game with many sweet memories associated with it. It's strange to me that no one mentions the game's excellent soundtrack. Made In Two Minutes and Passion have been on my playlist for almost 20 years

To me before i learned it was a snake logo for the older vipers i thought it was a gecko 😂

I remember people (and me also) having issues with controls of rear wheel drive cars. When I was a wee lad I played this game on a keyboard with automatic gearbox and it was hard to keep RWD cars straight. This year I came back to the game with a simple old steering wheel (Logitech Formula Force EX) and switched gearbox to manual. The difference between keyboard and wheel is night and day. This game has surprisingly good force feedback, feel of the car is absolutely amazing and you have a lot more control. This is my advice to everyone who wants a good experience with the game -- steering wheel with FFB.

Game is CRYING out for a remaster, but just the first one though IMO- they had the feel NAILED & the later sequels didn't capture the same. My favorite childhood racing game & now I drive the cover car😍

I used to get super rich in this game from constantly betting on sprint/drag races between tk and biggie in the viper and the corvette z06. Whoever was driving the viper would win every time guaranteed.

I think this is still my favorite racing game. The amount of times I have played is is crazy. You can play it with so many strategies. When I was younger I did stay on max 199 to I unlock the viper 😅 Then I get the viper and tune it down until I make it a prototype. The showcase events are also quite fun when you get used to them 😅 I love how your car customization can give you a lot of respect points or totally ruin it if "they don't like it" 😂 I did also use teammates a lot to level up my cars on sprint events. They get better when you let them race. I miss this kind of stuff in new games. The newest game that does have it is probably a gran turismo game with B-Spec. I loved that thing to 😅 If we talk about physics 🤔 I did like it and I still do even compare it to new games like the crew 🤢 Feels like you drive on rails 🤣 Here you need to be careful. You do also need to pay to fix your car. If you have a bad budget management you could actually be stuck with no possibility to use your car cause it is damaged 😅 The funny fact is that I never got 100% on that game 😅 My max was to get 1000 reps on all the people's and definitely some pro cars. The viper on max speed going over 400 km/h it feels good 😅 The other stuff I like is the amount of cars and what you can do to them. You have like a damn Vauxhall Corsa or a damn Punto All of them have crazy body kits 😅 Bring those kinds of games back please 😅 Well that's enough cause I could probably write a book about what I like about this game 😂 I kinda still likes the graphics to 🤣

what i liked about this game the most was the soundtrack was different in every platform, in ps2 version you have hellacopters song call the exorcist, force feedback and sensivity all down will make you faster, rest of the setting must be left as they are, the worst thing is the dirt overslowing when you touch it even if is so slight

imo using an awd car in this game is the same as cheating :D cuz handling is almost perfect, when it start can launch & can go through sharp corners quickly unlike rwd when it turns & through bumpy road we have to be careful not to sbinnala
