If I were to give you three secrets to maintaining health, I would say: don't sit for long periods, don't sit for long periods, don't sit for long periods. The harm prolonged sitting does to the body far exceeds what you might imagine. Not only can it cause gluteal amnesia, but it is also closely associated with many cardiovascular diseases.
The deep gluteal syndrome mentioned in this video is just one of the many hazards of prolonged sitting. Once this condition occurs, it's practically impossible to give the deep gluteal muscles a complete rest, making recovery very difficult.
