I think part of why Sukuna is using 10s so much is that he pretty much kind of locked himself into only using it after the first domain clash. Since it’s confirmed that you can only use one CT at a time (meaning Sukuna can’t summon 10s shikigami AND use Cleave and Dismantle at the same time), and that Sukuna most likely started the process of adaptation for Mahoraga right around when the first Domain Clash happened, it’s safe to say that Sukuna no longer would nor should use his other abilities from that point on. It would make sense if a limitation of 10s, or Mahoragas adaptation in particular, is that once the 10s technique is released (I.e. if Sukuna were to stop using 10s to use a Dismantle/Cleave) the Mahoraga adaptation process would cancel and reset, meaning all the progress made would be lost. This essentially means that Sukuna was in for the long game as while he probably could have capitalized on his win during the first domain clash to really lay in damage on Gojo while Gojo had CT Burnout whether it be shooting fire arrows or other hidden techniques and possibly kill Gojo through overwhelming him, Sukuna instead chose to keep his cards close and essentially take the route of wearing Gojo down which is true considering Sukuna himself states that the goal was to make Gojo fry his brain trying to resolve CT Burnout with RCT (even gave Gojo a freaking lecture to let Gojo know which of the two of them understood Cursed Energy and Jujutsu Sorcery better) in order to use UV multiple times which would give Sukuna an opening to freely open his domain, with a closed barrier, and overwhelm Gojo while Gojo can’t escape. Of course that didn’t fully work out and Sukuna had to adjust his plan from them on leading to now but the point stands. People keep trying to make this narrative that Sukuna’s only using 10s because he’s somehow admitting that his normal CT is inadequate to deal with Gojo and while that may be possible, it’s not the only reason as he’s pretty much forced to rely on it because of certain limitations and rules.
