Thanks, Lisa, so much for reviewing the Juki F-600. I really appreciate and respect your opinion. I have a Brother se400 right now and want to upgrade to the F-600 real soon. You have helped me so much with different projects from my first tshirt quilt to a fleece lined panel blanket. I couldn't have finished either project without your advise and sweet, loving voice giving me the confidence I needed to succeed. I was flattered to have my name mentioned on your video as well as written in print. You are so sweet. Thanks again for everything. Will be listening for years to come. Hugs, Kathryn

What a great review. I have certain criteria, too, for a machine: needle down, bright light, auto-cutter, detachable piece to sew cuffs, etc, and adjustable presser foot weight. This looks like a great machine.

Thank you for your review of this machine! After reviewing other machines (top machines for 2020), I have settled on this one and can't wait to get one! Since being introduced to you (via this video), I've joined the Creative Crew (and I'm not a fan of FB or social media!) and watched the Jennifer Allwood video you referred us to. I feel God is preparing me for "something" and has directed me here to you all! Thank you again for your encouragement!

I, too, purchased my F600 on December 1, 2018 and I love it so much! It's by far the best purchase I've made in a very long time. I never dreamed that I would love sewing as much as I do on this machine! When I was researching machines, I had a list of things that I wanted and this one had more things than I needed, but thought at least it would give me something new to try. I've used so many of those 'extras'! I can't recommend it enough!!

Hi Lisa! I just found you on YT! I have had my Juki HZL F600 for about a month now. I have only used it to sew together a table runner and am now ready to quilt. I have been a hand quilter for life, but have not done any for about 15 years now. Hence, I purchased this machine for machine quilting to put out faster production. I, like you and another of your viewers, feel I am being called to something in this journey from ABBA, so here we go. I donated my last machine (BabyLock sewing/embroidery machine) to the Boys and Girls club, as they have just started a new chapter there teaching their boys and girls how to sew! Such a beautiful thing! I am no seamstress for certain. I love putting together quilts, table runners, lap covers, Japanese yarn bags, etc. I tried sewing clothing in 1973 (Home Ec class) and failed miserably. HAHAHA. I am eager to get started on the quilting aspect with my new JEWEL! Praying He gives me beautiful skills in this journey. Blessings to you and Maranatha!! Sharri

@@sandyrichmond2570 I don't have a wonderful machine like that but I sent my machine to get maintenance and the guy went out of business and I had no way to get my machine back. That person had been in business for over 20 years in the same location so that was such a shock. I never thought that could happen. I will never feel safe taking my machine or anything else if they can't fix it while I wait.

Sonia Guzman Wow how awful! Unfortunately most places that I’m aware of will keep a machine 1-2 weeks for routine maintenance maybe longer if parts are needed. I always get a receipt when I drop mine off at a shop. Don’t know if it would help in a situation like yours but at least I’d have proof I left it there. First I’ve ever heard of a situation like yours. So sorry that happened to you.

I've been having my eye on this machine for quite some time. I read some not very nice reviews about it and the customer service of some of the companies that offer them, and I held back. Your review has renewed my desire to own one and encouraged me to purchase it. A review this good gave me the last push I needed. I heard good comments about the company that you purchased your machine from, and I will buy from them. I'll make sure to mention your review when I go there. (I live a short drivable distance from them). Enjoy your machine. You sound very happy with it. I even smiled a couple of times while watching your review. 😁

I already have a juki serger so i know there's quality there. I'm not a quilter but i do like all the options that eliminate some of the annoyances of my first machine. I often break needles on semi thick seams and have knocked it out of timing. (easy to fix though) after seeing her do the denim test i was sold

Thank you for your detailed review of this amazing sewing machine. I thought it was a "class act" for you to mention the CraftyGemini's tutorial review of this machine and suggesting your viewers watch it in case anything was left out. Again, class act. Between the both of yours & CraftyGemini's videos, (there were/are similarities, but also two different perspectives- both valuable), I purchased this machine today. 😀 * As impressive as I initially thought the pedal thread cutter was, I was concerned about cutting the thread accidentally until learning here that I can turn that feature off. So thank you again.

Oh my glory, I think you are going to LOVE this machine. I use mine daily and each day it performs wonderfully! Yep, turn off that thread cutter, I was glad I did that.....and then raise the table in the front just just smidgen. Ive found after sometime using the machine, there is a small lip on the throat plate that catches seams from time to time. Raising the front of the table helps a lot.

Hi Lisa ~ Lovely machine! I was quite impressed when at the end when you sewed on that strip of fabric. You were not guiding it and the fabric fed through straight without you having to guide it! A name ~ how about Jewel or Jool or Jule? When I read your descriptor comment and saw HZL, I automatically thought - Hazel. Have fun!
@TheQuiltmakerHomestead
@TheQuiltmakerHomestead 5 жыл бұрын
It really does feed the fabric through pretty straight without a lot of effort of keeping everything lined up. My Singer has a tendency to pull the fabric to the left as it sews and so I would have to pay attention to that. I like all of those names, they are cute!

I agree with Ivette Ramos' comment. Get your computerized equipment on surge suppressors/protected power supplies! I thought my rec room was safe, but my sensitive computerized sewing machine got fried one day after months of using it in the same spot. No storm, no construction, nothing. Just one day it got fried. And a few thousand dollars down the drain. The replacement motherboard that got fried was almost as expensive as a new machine, so I gave it to a friend to use it for spare parts.

My Bernette Serger (early 90's) is still going strong. I also have a Juki Coverstitch. My sewing machines are Bernina 910 and a new Bernina B530 (I think I got that from Sewing Machines Plus too...when the model was closing out). The trouble is that I have only 7.5" of throat space. I will never be a good enough quilter to justify getting a long arm or an expensive sit down machine, so I started looking at domestics with more throat space. I bought a used Juki Kirei which has 12 inches of space. I feel like I've died and gone to heaven. Still getting used to it. It is feature rich to be sure. I am having to get used to the "big honking profile" of the throat plate. They should engineer that better, because it is very noticeable when you are feeding a quilt, even with a glide. But the thread cutter and even feed on that machine is a joy. And I don't care even I straight lined every quilt that I make until the day that I die. But I'm trying to get used to FMQ on this machine (having gotten used to the BSR non the Bernina). You have to pay thousands more to get the same features in some of the other machines. It did not feel like it had the same build quality as the newer coverstitch, though. But I'm happy with my good value and IMMENSE features.

Not only that but its beautiful too! I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos. Now I’m in the market for a serger. Is there any you recommend? Thank you for such a great review.

I know this comment is 3yo but i also was looking at the babylock brilliant but kept hearing it was picky on what thread would work and could be frustrating to thread. So then i saw crafty gemini do a video on the juki F series and i was sold on seeing her sew through 8 layers of denim with no needle breakage. My singer breaks needles at a basic denim seam!! So i ordered the f400 since i don't quilt. As for serger you probably already purchased one but i have a juki serger to which ive had over a year and wouldn't suggest any other. Japanese make quality stuff. How are you liking yours?

It was fun to see someone else’s perspective on the same machine. I haven’t found many true cons either. The thing that pesters me though is that there is a lip where the bobbin area starts. My seams aren’t always going in the same direction so several seams would get flipped. I fixed it by adding a piece of painters tape. No the fabric and seams just glide right through. I turned off the foot pedal cutter too. I plan on turning It back on when I’m sewing scraps to the calculator tape. I think the cutter and the knee lift will make that type of scrap sewing a bit quicker and easier. I don’t usually name anything. I tend to just call It My Juki. My last machine was a Brother and It didn’t work to call It my Brother 😉. I like the name Juki. 🤷‍♀️

I love this machine too bought it because of all the features and feet . I have been using the move the needle feature for 1/4 “ quilting - you just showed me a better way thank you ! My issue is thread bunching at the start of any project - I have tried retreading , new bobbin , tension adjusting but it still happens and has since the first day of use - my solution is to use a starter piece then cut it off but it is a pain - any suggestions would be appreciated?
@TheQuiltmakerHomestead

My first thought is to check the size of the needle you are using vs. the material you are sewing with. If the needle is large sometimes it has a tendency to pull the fabric down into the throat plate. For me, I've always sewn with leaders and enders and I've carried that into this machine as well, so I haven't noticed the issue you are mentioning. Check your needle and see????
