Julie Andrews Live in Concert (1989/90). This is probably my favourite part of the concert.... :D She talks about growing up and she sings Mrs. Worthington and Burlington Bertie from Bow. Enjoy!

She's a 100% professional performer. I've never been crazy about her, myself...but I respect her a great deal. And I liked her autobiography. And she must have been an interesting person inside, because she married two brilliant men (production designer Tony Walton, and director Blake Edwards,)

How I wish I was old enough to watch her on MFL, Camelot, The Boyfriend & her amazing incredible onstage performances in Carnegie Hall! And even her Julie Andrews Hour on TV! America you were weird how did you fail such a brilliant STAR, had such an incredibly classy entertaining TV show be cancelled after a year? Her movie STAR is epic, yet it didn’t do well? What the heck?

Her parents come off slightly different in her autibiography. She is talking about her step-father, she didn't like him. He was an alcholic and her mother became one. Her Daddy she adored! Only she learned out later, from her drunk mother, he was not her father. On debuting in 'My Fair Lady' her biological father showed up, making it known that if she wanted to continue the relationship that would be okay. This was sort of the second time she had seen him and she felt he was intruding on her Daddy's pride and joy, that he had a daughter who starred in a show in the West End. She never mentioned him again in the book. I don't know if Daddy ever knew she was not his daughter. PS: The Ella Shields she talks about was an American, but she had her greatest success in Britain. She and a young Julie Andrew's appeared together on the bill of a Command Performance, in the late 1940s, in front of the King and Queen. Ella Shields was a Male-impersonator, and it is thought that Andrew's paid tribute to her by singing 'Burlington Bertie from Bow' in her movie 'Star.' It is also thought Shields may have inspired Julie in her performance in Victor/Victoria.

Yeah I agree, and I'm really jealous of you! When did you see her on Broadway, when she did Victor/Victoria?
