Americans are schizoid when it comes to health. They either become super eat clean freaks or fast food junkies, nothing in between. Like most things in America, health and living are black and white with no in-between. So in the big cities you have health freaks who don't allow themselves any pleasures (hardly) and in rural areas you have fast food heaven......they still don't know what balance is but always strive to be either French or some kind of European but never will, trust me ;)

so much ignorance.... from people that never traveled to europe...again, what’s europe? there are so many different cultures and countries. i traveled to USA and i saw many big sizes and too much food ...people eating too much! i can assure that here in italy and overall europe - i visited almost every country- people eat less and exercize more, even if they just walk every day! ok people smoke every where OUTSIDE, but general life style is healthier!

Universal health care and air are not the main factors in those two years. Obesity and drug abuse are. People die from heart attacks, diet based neurological issues, and opiate addiction a long time before anything universal healthcare or clean air is going to fix. Edit for clarification: Heart attack, stroke, and cancer are problems causes typically by dietary choices or chronic drug abuse. They account for more than 10x as many deaths as respiratory disease, without even counting diabetes or overdose. Edit again: a large number of respiratory diseases are caused by prescription opiates, further distancing "clean air" lol.

This sounds like a very depressed Italian expat to me. He probably didn't have a work visa, so he had nothing to do in a foreign country where he didn't speak the language and probably didn't know a lot of people. He was missing familiar food so much that he binged on bacon and cream cheese (I'm not Italian, but I live quite close to the border and that is not a normal meal). He was looking for comfort so he found Bob Ross. Fabio needed counselling, friends, or a plane ticket back to Italy.

Hope she was just kidding, cause there's NO way an Italian would be THAT idiot, eating bacon and cream cheese thinking it was prosciutto and mascarpone. And in Italy we drink espresso at the bar, sitting on a table or at the counter, chit chatting with people we just met, not even waiting in line.
