Jumanj i 2 is a Great sequel But i would not call it a Sequel but Alt, yes the narrative is good But Jumanji 1 is way better, nothing can touch Robin Williams performance and the magic he brings to the film, the film is magic and Bonnie Hunt, the officer, the dad, the children do awesome Acting in the film as well

The movie was decent and a little funny. But the jungle was so disappointing. This would have worked better as a horror movie. The jungle we hear about in the original is like a terrible frightening hellscape. Here it's just like a fun romp with no fear to it

Yes! A new video!(I was running out of videos to binge on your channel) When I first saw Jumanji 2, I thought it was pretty good and stick by that. But after seeing the original again, I definitely see where your criticisms lie. I also wanted to thank you for replying to my comment on the Justice league vs the avengers. I completely agree with everything, Jumanji is supposed to be hell, it's supposed to be exaggerated. Jumanji is supposed to target its players fears, remember the game is evil. In the second movie, it just seems mindless. Remember "What do you mean the game thinks?"

The first one was definitely better. Better story, better characters, character development, a great soundtrack and even some heartwarming moments. All the second film had going for it was action, explosions, and penis jokes. You know, the same typical crap from comedy films with no substance going for it.

I think Jumanji is more of a cult classic film more than a classic film in of itself, but it doesn't mean that it's a bad movie. I don't love it as much as I used to; Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle is a movie that surprised me that it even got good reviews (I was expecting another Ghostbusters 2016 scenario) at all. However me and my family went to see it in the theaters and was pleasantly surprised by a good chunk of the film. It wasn't my favorite movie of the year (I'm not even sure I'd call it a good solid in of itself) but I would recommend JWTJ if you're looking for a enjoyable flick and a good videogame movie.

My guess, regarding Jumanji's brutal treatment of Allen, is that the board game knew he would win. It was probably trying to get rid of him via the curses. That's all I can say.

I always said the original jumanji is the shit n after watching the new 1..... I was right. The one thing that bug me about the new 1 was they had 3 lives each. As for the original there was no retry that made everything that much more scary. Plus in the book that it's base off Allen take the bullet but luckily for him his elephant made it to the finish line n rest it self just like in the movie.

Though I get your point in that it is a big disconnect from the original in terms of tone and concept, the new film is still a good movie for what it is trying to do. I wouldn't call it a sequel as more of a soft reboot-ish type. I mean it's a comedy action film to its fullest. The first one is a whole other genre. It seems the biggest problem with the "sequel" is its association with the name "Jumanji".

I agree with your verdict, only you rated the winner too low, and the loser too high. But that's just me. The only genuine benefit the new "jumanji" film presented was outselling the the DC movie and Disney's "star wars" disaster. Could you imagine a scene where as part of the game, all the characters have to go through a giant wasp nest filled with the giant wasps from the first movie. They could have some terrifying scenes with them sneaking around but being utterly surrounded by enemies and monsters they know they can’t fight

I was looking for a review like this just to see if I wasn't the only one that hated the different them of the second movie. I loved it through, however I hoped it would have provided us with a bigger thrill ride just like the first one did.

I still think the original is the superior film, but you forgot one important thing. The game evolved. Along with its evolution, the jungle obviously went along with it. The video game version of Jumanji gave the jungle a story filled with people instead of being a normal jungle devoid of human life.

The Jumanji 90s cartoon is a better sequal to jumanji then the latest movie.

Both are good movies, but feel like they have different genres. The first is a family film while the second is an action comedy, each movie’s pros and cons make sense with the genres they fall into.

it was sign of the times i guess with total tone change in the sequel in the MCU era, suspense and horror are a limited market nowadays. Its a different audience now. and the sequel movie even kind of showed it where the first kid getting the game didn't even played or curious enough to mess with it. Like the movie it had to change from board game to video game which its current audience understands. I guess that's why it made money....

Their are actually 4 films in the series including the one coming out later on this year. Their is what was labelled a cousin film. Wrote by the same guy, but different cast and director. I am of course talking about the 2005 film ZATHURA. In the film they never mentioned the connection, but in the book Zathura it was.

One thing you could've mentioned about the original and the game, whenever a player roles. It also gave us the viewers something to ponder and guess with the clue given. Such which made it a little bit more entertaining. The sequel and sequel's sequel didn't have that, it just was a straightforward get to the next scene movie. I guess you can say there stats takes place of it, but honestly those gets shown once and by the time that trait comes into play its not much to think about. Jumanji original is the better movie, I watched it a few times in theaters.

Now I head you saying that humans being the enemies instead of animals doesn't connect to the first movie. But remember the scene at the begining where the game transformed for board game to a video game. Perhaps the game could have transformed on the inside as well.

I think the reboots should've been something completely different. From what I've heard it's pretty alright, but it's fatal flaw is calling itself "Jumanji". The original was a high-stakes nightmare that affected others as well as the players, while the remakes only affect the main characters from what I've seen. And it's not like whatever powers that be _wouldn't_ allow it to become something more eye-catching. Zathura is arguably just that in the original book. The boys open up the game, one of them doesn't like it, and a new one mysteriously appears in the box to appeal to him. They could've taken advantage of this! What if it was a new theme altogether like DnD or an old school RPG like Ultima? Either way, if the videogame really took after the spirit of the original board games (and Robin William's monologue), it should've been one of those where you only get one life and if you die it's game over. No tutorial level, or at least one you have to find a la Elden Ring; very vague hints and hard mode is *default* . It's a child's introduction to Skull Island for Pete's sake! Maybe throw in some real world consequences like the board game did too while you're at it!
