Jump progression time- Pretty Fly. 440 Bike Park

I have been keen to extend my run down the mountain bike jump line called Pretty Fly at Fourforty bike park in Auckland NZ.
The question is how many more jumps can I pull off?

Nice video. When I heard you shout my video out, I thought I was dreaming! Yeah, me overshooting the 6th jump probably didn't give you confidence. That jump also scared the crap out of me when it was my first time doing it!

Would be good to watch someone do that jump. It's very hard to gauge speed on a video. You did it very well.

Another great video Lance. I always wonder how I will ever learn to do anything more than I currently do on my bike when I genuinely don’t actually have confidence. That’s dangerous to fake.

I think to learn mountain bike skill you take lots of baby steps and lots of practice. Try each ride to try something new, even if it is just a more technical line down a hill. You can try and progress faster but that also comes with increased risk. You are right you cannot fake confidence. Lessons can also make a huge difference.

I’m always looking forward to seeing you in 2024 and hey you ain’t silly or stupid to not do a gap jump or anything else we get older and we get wise let the young lads to do those silly things if they full they hell faster than us 😊

I always enjoy your videos and envy your jumping confidence. Would just question the choice of doing those 'extra' jumps on a day when you've "got the park to yourself."

Not ideal, I must admit. By this stage, the shuttles were running, and this track is right next to the road, so I figured the bus driver would see me. I do get frustrated, though, as I want to make these videos with others but can not get anyone to join me. To be honest, I would have done number 6 if I was not on my own.

You are right. To be fair, although I showed 9 attempts, I was really just practising the first 5. Always good to do multiple times to get confident on them. Will do number 6 another day.

I like the accuracy of my feet. Have done for years now. I find it really helps. Knowing the jump you are about to do is the same size as another jump you have already done gives confidence. I guess when I started the jumps were only about 10 feet but have grown.😁
