tip for the future if you still do this stuff years later, pre-tin your cables before you solder them, makes your job a million times easier without all the strands everywhere. I mod game consoles and use different types of wire, aaalways pre tin.

Awesome video. I don't know anything about electrical stuff, and have always wondered how people set up cabinet lighting without a ton of wires everywhere. You did a really good job of showing the steps in a simple and clear manner.

Love this. I plan to do something similar on a bookshelf I plan to get for displaying my statues of my favorite comic book characters. I also plan to add LEDs to my Arcade1Up cabinets. This showed me exactly what I need to to know to do it.

Have you thought about using join screws to connect the shelves? The gap sets off my ocd. You could have also been able to run 3 long rows instead of 6.

Yeah, I'm not doing all that. I'm going to stick the lights to the back of the billy bookcase frames in a continuous loop so they don't show but glow, then keep the bookcases an inch from the wall, but still screw them in place and hope for the best.

60/40 solder/ 40/60 I can't remember exactly which will make your life exponentially easier. You won't have any need for the Flux or any of that jazz. On projects like these I've never even bothered with it. Look for a better solder and your projects will go much faster and smoother. Pre-tin the strips and pre-tin the wires. You'll be golden, pony boy.

I got the clips except they came in the wrong size for the 10mm lights I had. Although the clips save a ton of time, they get loose over time and need to be adjusted. I've used similar clips for 90 degree turns. Soldering does take much longer but it lasts much longer. Thanks for the input and for watching! Happy holidays🙂

Sorry man but you are teaching very bad soldering techniques to your viewers. Those are poor connections, no pre-tinning on the pads, and your exposed wires are cut too long. Everything might have worked this time but either you got lucky or they are going fail eventually. Please realize that I mean this as constructive criticism and not an insult.
