I traveled to Sanaghijima Island, a remote island in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.
It is a “cat island” with a circumference of 4 km and a population of 60 people, where many cats live.
There are many “cat islands” in Japan, but this island is especially famous for its “jumping cats” that jump between embankments.
I stayed at the Nekonoshima Hostel, the only lodging facility on the island.
The hostel is housed in an abandoned school building and is, of course, full of cats.
I spent two days and one night enjoying the company of the cats.
