I was there in 2003. Wow 20 years ago (I am 52 now). I miss it so much and keep planning to go back. Your video is inspiring me to get on it! I can't get over the water in this vlog. Unbelievable. I love your music selection too. It is soothing and matches the scenery perfectly!

It looks incredible now. There used to be those floating swim barriers, porta potties, and dozens of boats in the water. I'm glad they're doing that. Also those plastic jetties and concrete entrance and view deck helps. There's was none of that when we went there and I saw an elderly lady trying to navigate the rocky entrance and hurt herself. You guys make such great content.

I'm coming to phi phi next Thursday for 3 nights, then moving on to khao lak for 5 days. I have another 3 days I haven't planned as yet. I've waited since 2020 for this trip. It was cancelled twice. I definitely will try visit maya bay early. Thanks for that tip 😊

In 2012 I went to Maya Bay. There were over 30 of the big high speed multi engine motor boats that bring visitors from Phuket lined up on the beach. An absolute massive crowd. Much better the way you are seeing it. All the best to you. I love your Vlogs.

Great summary of the Maya bay tour! I am on a plane in 2 days for it. Love this video as it shows the actual methods of moving around and the towns. Really love this style of shooting. I probably will do the speedboat from Krabi as I dont want to stay in Phi Phi just to bounce to Maya, so I will probably see the massive crowds at Maya bay.

Went the other week. 1st time was 12 years ago and was one of the last one's that got to spend the night on the island ❤️ . Absolutely incredible place !!!!!

Definitely worth the visit, the best is to stay overnight on Phi Phi then hire private boat to visit early morning like you did then go snorkeling and visit small islands nearby. In the evening, you can hike to the view point for sunset beer. So 3 days 2 nights would fit perfectly.

Not realy. Unfortunately the beach is closed and Phi Phi is very crowded. Nothing special. Very noisy and dirty place. I recommend staying in Krabi Town.

Looks awesome, I went there a couple of years back, would love to go again, 'The Beach' was closed off when I visited, but you did the right thing and went early, Monkey beach I went to also, Phuket has many interesting places, you'll enjoy it too.

Hey guys, awesome video as always! I've just spent another evening glued to your travels and especially missing Thailand! I really want to know, what do you record your videos on, all on a go pro, and if so which one? I need to invest in whatever you're recording on, your videos are on point! Would really appreciate some advice on this as planning to start videoing my travels teaching English, so only covering a few bits of the local area I work in but more so life as an English teacher abroad etc. Many thanks in advance guys and keep the good stuff coming, you're awesome!

It is breath taking for the first time. But I wouldnt go back again as theres just too many ppl going there. When I went there was only 10 of us and we spent few hours on the island just relaxing, now its overcrowded n destroyed.

@@stangoodvibes Maya Bay should have been closed 15 years ago. The movie accelorated the change but tourism has exploded around the world over the last 40 years. And now it's social media/youtube making travel even more desireable.

Loved the video. Amazing views. We will go to Krabi in april. So i am curious to see what we can expect. Thanks for sharing the reality. I am still in doubt to go to Maya Beach beceause of the crowd or choose a less popular island trip. Is there something you can recommend? Ps.: We are a couple mid 50. Still young harted 😉, but more into the chill mode 🙃.

You have to do maya bay, crowds or no crowds, its just incredible. Railay is absolutely stunning . Krabi/ao nang was a great base and a cool town, so much to do in and around.

The way to do it is charter your own sailboat. I’m not sure if they still allow it but we anchored right outside and had maya bay to ourselves.

@@stangoodvibes I doubt I ruined anyone’s view we got there and for the most part everyone was gone. Slept overnight and left as everyone was coming in. I did moon one guy taking pics from the beach though. Maybe that was you?

I was at Phi Phi Don and Lei in 2015. Back then ALL the boats went in to Maya Bay unfortunately. TONS of boats and hundreds and hundreds of people on the beach and swiming in the water. Very beautiful, but a tourist trap without any comparison back then. I am so glad that they changed all the rules, and even put the entrence on the back side of the island. When I was there, that back entrence just had a wodden "diving" platform.

Its still overcrowded, constant whisteling by the rangers as people go to the water but worst is the mayham going on on the other side with boat docking. We were there when the sea was rough and there were boats hitting each other, hitting the jetty, 20 people fell over, luckily no one to the water during one stronger collision and so on...
