Bought my rope 6 weeks ago used it almost every day for 15mins. I've never been really overweight or athletic either but at 53 thought it was about time I did a little cardio improvement hence the rope (don't like running). Anyway, I noticed in the mirror I have the beginning of a six-pack coming without doing a single sit-up or altering my diet. 54 in March & will have my first ever six-pack by then 😊

Hi, Dan. I'm so glad I watched this. I've just started the Crossrope 14 Day Beginner Challenge. I've always been able to jump rope, but not used it as my go to daily exercise plan. I completed 2 sessions and I feel as though my lower back, groin area and tops of my thighs have 'splinters'. So I listened to the wisdom of my body and took a day off. Having watched this video, I realise that it's what could happen and so will take one more day off, then return to day 3, doing the sessions on alternate days, or three times a week, depending on how my body feels, until I've completed the challenge. I think, for me, slow and steady wins the race.

The reality of day one was: "you gotta be kidding me, this was way easier when I was 10". Day two I was stringing 20 or so skips together and stoked about it. I realize all the things I’m doing wrong from your video. I’m going to try your tips and advice so I can master this simple skill of jumping rope again. Great video! Just a thought on your analogy though, have you ever watched cricket? They throw with a straight arm (bowl) and get pretty similar speed to pitchers. They do have a short run up maybe that makes the difference...

Breaking it down into a 4 count and starting with 1 jump, then 2 jumps, and three. I increased to 4. It was the best tip for me. I basically kept counting by four even for a sustained 3 minute jump. Really good video

Still loving the Austin video. Miss my city since living overseas. For those who are skeptical, it works surprisingly well. Keep in mind if you go from the couch to jumping rope like crazy, thinking you're gonna get ripped faster, you're gonna run into pain, shin splints etc. It happened to me, quite a lot of pain. Just take it easy, stretch your legs, and eventually the pain will completely go away. Keep it up, monitor your calorie intake, and the results WILL BE defined muscle tone, more energy, and better health.
